I just bought an old second hand Macbook. I keep the Leopard OS on it and just run Bryce (and Photoshop) on it.
A good 11 year old second hand Macbook costs less than most 3D software (I paid £120 for mine) and worth it to be able to keep using Bryce.
You can always virtualize old OS's using programs like Parallels. Then you can use a newer faster computer.
