Can i get just the face of the model's head?

i'd like to know if i can get just the front part of the model's head (Vic8 for example), like a mask.

Thanks

  • Yes, though the method - and how useful the result will be - depends on the final aim.

i just wanted to render a base for painting a mask

  • Just floating in space? You could paint a map on the ehad (in an image editor) that was black on the areas of the ehad you wanted to lose and white elsewhere, then apply that to Cutout Opacity (and probably the Glossy Strength andf some other properties) in the Surfaces pane for the face, hide all the other body parts, make the remaining head areas that are on the torso map fully transparent in the Surfaces pane. Alternatively, if the polygon boundaries were helpful, you could use the Geometry Editor to select the areas you wanted to keep, invert the selection (right-click>Geometry Selection), and delete the selected polygons (right-click>Geometry Editing - actually you can delete unselected polygons too, as I recall, so the invert step coul;d be skipped).

you also can pose her through the ground on her back and position the view above

make sure png and draw dome off

Another option could be using section planes to "cut away" the part of the head you don't want.

Nice, thanks a lot to everyone, i'll try these. I'd like to have jsut the face floating of course, cause i wanted to render it from behind, i already painted in using other reference, but i'll definitely try those, can be helpful for future projects!

turn off all body parts but the head and then cut the opacity on the skinhead to 0

you can do a lot of "cheating" this way. Was doing some renders with a girl and the falcon and wanted wings.. the same wings the falcon had.
turn off all falcon parts but wings .. scale up .. stick in model
