I wish DAZ store would up their game and include environments with promos with base male and female included. So we can see what they look like with figures.

Otherwise you get these situations where something is far too big, or far too small, or simply awkwardly sized.

The promos of this set make it look larger. But the chair is awkward, and  the character doesnt' fit well, plus the top seems too low.

  • Yeah... agree in principle.
Scale is consistently inconsistent, and I think there's a least one ongoing rant/complaint thread about that.

Had the same issue with the new Secret Agent's Lounge set. The chairs are twice as long as a human leg. Luckily, since my render was head-on, I could "solve" it just by manually scaling the chair along the Z axis.

  • Serene Night, I feel your pain.  This is a long standing complaint of mine.

  • +1

You would think they could use a base g8m and g8f as a measuring stick and split the size difference between the two.

The scale doesn't bother me that much in this case - although badly scaled rooms are horrible - but I wonder what this "discharge room" is all about?

    The description says:

The Discharge Sci-Fi Room is where people can evacuate in cases of emergencies, especially when the ship or mobile laboratory is crashing or tearing apart.
In this indoor environment, 6 people can be discharged or be ejected from the ship using separate chambers to be safe from any harm that can happen. The space is wide enough to prepare for each discharge.

Sooo.. is the whole room ejected? Or just the seats? And as it's an emergency room for crashes and stuff, why are there no belts securing the people in the seats?
For me it's just another of those SciFi passages that can be filled with stuff... But if someone can explain to me what the PA thought when he designed this passage, great.. wink

I tried to figure it out. I think it is intended to eject the seats, and they are to fly to safety with the aid of chutes, or perhaps some sort of tunnel  with the steering joy sticks. However there is no way to eject those, there is no corresponding chute, no tracks, and the seats seem dont have any restraints so sitting there, you will likely hit the metal ceiling or be propelled out if the seat starts to move.

Also, you are out of luck if you are right handed. to reach the joystick you will need to lean forward around the edge of the chair, and grasp it with your left hand, thus ensuring you flop out if that chair starts to move... .Unless..

The seats are magnetized, and you are wearing armor. In this case, you may remain stuck there, but how you will steer... Is still a mystery.

To be fair to the PA, one look through Daz's assortment of female armor will show practicality is very, very optional.

I think for the genre of skimpwear, impractical sexy outfits  is the norm. Sci-fi tends to be more logical, and people expect some degree of plausibility.

Maybe it leads to one of those Thunderbirds-like tunnels that drops you into a cozy escape pod after fitting you with body armor. 5... 4... 3...

Looking at the picture... The hydraulic cylinder looks like it's supposed to draw the seat downwards, except that the shaft is corroded beyond repair...

Whatever the toilet is supposed to do, it doesn't work (anymore).
