Is it possible to use scale/resize in just one direction

My question is similar to https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/157996/scaling-body-parts-in-x-y-or-z but I am using the free version of the program, version 4.12.1. I want to know if it is possible to scale an item in just one direction rather than having to make a new item for each shape.  If it is not possible in the base program, is it something I can do with a   plugin? Im working with the basic models right now but would like to be able to create a whole scene with furniture, signs, walls, etc.

Thanks

Scaling only on one axis should definitely be available.

What are you trying to do exactly?

  • Just emable Preferences>Show Hidden Properties in the Parameter pane option menu (the lined button in the top corner, or right-click the tab).

Okay thanks, that worked. I had found a tutorial that said the same thing, but it used a visual, and the button was not in the same place.  I had no idea what to look for, and I didnt even see the thing in the corner as possibly being a button.  I will probably have more questions but I am planning in the long run to import some very old 3D models instead of using t he built-in ones and those questions are impossible for me to see ahead of time.  Thanks,

  • Having that option, and soem others, in the Preferences sub-menu is quite new.
