Semi OT - Space X hits 100 mission launches, we need Crew Dragon models!

This isn't really a product request thread, although I'm sure someone has asked for a Crew Dragon looking capsule in the Product Requests subforum by now. I'd love to see a capsule along those lines with an articulated hatch and detailed interior for Daz3D.
In any case, Space X didn't get everything they wanted yesterday, apparently their 'double header' launch was disrupted due to weather, but at least one of the two launches went off, so they did pull off their 100th mission yesterday!
It was also, apparently, the first polar orbit launch from Florida since 1969...
The first stage did stick the landing btw. They recently launched and recovered a 1st stage booster for the sixth time as well, so they will be shooting for #7 with that booster at some point I'd imagine.
In any case, it's becoming routine now, to the point that these launches seem like routine. My fave vids are the ones where the two side boosters on the Falcon heavy land side by side, that's just so cool to watch!
Space is hard though, so it's nice to see engineers and techicians at the top of their game!
You do have to applaud one other thing. That being getting other customers to buy launches on the new boosters to help pay for them, and then using the previously used boosters for all of those Starlink missions. Astronomers getting annoyed with all of the space clutter aside, well it's an interesting strategy...
Back to the Crew Dragon capsule though:
I like doing space art occasionally, so I'm hoping we get a Crew Dragon 'knockoff' capsule for Daz Studio with a detailed interior soon. I have a couple of Crew Dragon models that I've found around the web for free, but those don't have interiors...
Any other space nuts around here pretty excited about SpaceX's progress on things these days?
Comments
Very excited to see what SpaceX is up to — landing spaceships on their tail, like God and Robert Heinlein intended.
It isn't the Crew Dragon, but there is a very Dragon-like spacecraft in the store, as the Space Satellite. No interior, though. Should be able to dock it with one of the ISS models elsewhere in the store, or even the Lego-brick build-it-yourself version on the NASA website. And I just remembered there's a Soyuz here at DAZ as well.
BTW, if you have a look at Renderosity and scroll back a few pages in their store listing, you'll come across one of the great might-have-beens of space flight back in the 60s, and a few other RL spacecraft by the same vendor. There's also an old Apollo CM/LM, but it's a bit on the primitive side, and the LM has some slightly glaring inaccuracies.
I have a number of external models of various things space related. I'm hoping for stuff with detailed interiors.
As I noted, I do have a few free models of the Crew Dragon and some other vintage space vehicles, such as the LM that I've used. none of those have interirors. for exterior shots, I don't mind doing a little retexturing of .'non-Daz native' objs and such as needed. I have a space shuttle that has some basic interior details, essentially just enough that you can peek in the windows and see seats and such at least.
I do have the MV Stella sets, but those are more sci fi, even though they do have some nice details. I have a few other space oriented sets as well, but none of those are 'tight and cramped'. The Crew Dragon module looks a lot more roomy than previous spacecraft, except for the Space Shuttle and ISS, but are still rather compact.
Since Crew Dragon is now officially part of the US Space Program, yeah it'd be nice to have a 'close enough' facsimile that we can strap our spacesuit clad Daz figures into for some fun renders. I just added a request for a Crew Dragon or close facsimile to the Product Requests thread, as my Google search that I made after starting this thread didn't seem to turn anything up.
Back to SpaceX though, it looks like we might get another Falcon Heavy launch (finally) towards the end ot this year. The development of Starship has been fascinating to follow as well. There's a more extensive test hop coming up soon.
Your tongue in cheek 'landing on their tail as God and Heinlein intended' comment is interesting. if Elon and his team of engineers could have found a cheaper way to land his rockets in a way that would allow for rapid turnaround, he would have went with it, but it seems that how Falcon 9's first stage does it is the most practical. Apparently rockets and sea water don't interact well, as related to quick turnaround times.
ATK's space shuttle solid rocket boosters parachuted into the ocean, but due to their very nature they required lots of effort to refurbish and re-stock for the next shuttle launch. They were powerful beasts of course! Even the Space Shuttle's RS-25's required significant turnaround time for refurbishment between flights.
Among other things, apparently SpaceX is looking at a sea-based launch platform in the coming years for their Super Heavy, as 31 raptor engines firing simultaneously gets a bit noisy and almost daily launches might get a bit annoying...
