missing MAC Download.

Anyone know what happened to the MAC manual download for DAZ Studio? I need to upgrade to 4.12—so that I can load the Measurement Metrics plugin—but can't without that download. All I'm finding in my Product Library is a Windows download, which does me no good. specifically, I need the MAC 32 bit download.

  • I don't know what happened to it -- have noticed quite a few changes happening to the store and our account pages. Might be a good time to put in a support ticket.

  • Mac stand-alone installers are not currently an option, as noted in the first post of the release thread. This has nothing to do with, and has been the case since well before, the current updates to the site.

While that is true of standard content, I have had a MAC standalone installer for the main program even as recently as DS 4.11. It is only this most recent update to the program that doesn't include a MAC installer, only a Windows standalone installer. The Measurement Metrics plugin also lacks a MAC standalone installer for the main plugin, only a Windows one, but does include MAC standalone installers for the "Figure Metrics".

  • Yes, it is a recent development. Measure Metrics is a plug-in (binary code), Figure Metrics is content (a script) - as far as I know it's only executable code that doesn't currently have stand-alone installers for the Mac.

So, then how am I supposed to update my software or properly load the Measurement Metrics? My computer is not connected to the net so I can't use the download manager, even if I wanted to.

  • I don't know, you could try contacting support to see if they can provide you with a downloadable package that you can then place in the Downloads folder for DIM on the offline machine.

You could load DIM on both your unconnected computer and on a computer with internet access. Download the install packages on the internet computer, and copy them to the downloads folder on the unconnected computer.  Then run DIM in offline mode to install them.

And as a reminder: Yes, you CAN download the Mac packages on a Windows computer via DIM. You merely have to give it the correct platform target in the settings.
