updating Daz questions.

alan bard newcomer

my Daz installs are a little old but seem to be happy. 
4.12.0.86 for pro and 4.12.1.76 for beta 
and I have nvidia 430.64 and everyone seems happy.

although I did do one render with a LAMH lion cub that worked and then next try it crashed and continues to do so. 
Tried in the beta and the beta doesn't crash but doesn't render the hair, either.

so maybe time to update them both.
video cards are 980ti 6g and TitanX 12g

so do I have to fight with new nivida drivers? 
assuming the newest pro will be one of the ones that doesn't allow multiples unless it's started with a script?

But having moved the current daz 412086 to another disk and running it from there without issues 
will the new daz only see multiple copies of itself or will it detect older copies as well?

I've worked on a second file while rendering on the other one without issues
never tried rendering multiple files... but thinking about it .. it would seem you could assign one render to one gpu and the other to another and even do a third using cpus? (never mind on that)

Or as I'm planning to upgrade the C drive to a 2tb ss/hd combo and upgrade to ten.. maybe just wait until then? 
Or do I want to do the daz upgrades now and debug if necessary so I'm sure I'm dealing with daz issues (if they appear) as opposed to win10 issues?
