Will the nvidias 30xx series work with daz studio right away?

I remember with the 20xx series that it took a while until it worked with daz, if I remember correctly.
Is there any news that daz makes sure it is working on launch?

Daz can't really do anything, because they have no control over Iray. What we've been told is that the most recent version of Optix doesn't need to be recompiled for new builds, so it SHOULD work right away.
It depends whether they .dlls get a version bump or not, with the new ones only working on current hardware. It's not so much Optix but the associated assemblies, like cuda.dll. It's not unusual to get a new, not backwards compatible, CUDA version with new hardware from NVIDIA.
RTX 20XX didn't work for a few months because that generation of GPU brought in a lot of new features to iRay.
Judging off of today's announcements, RTX 30XX seems to have, relative to iRay, all the same features but just a lot faster in absolute terms and relative to power consumption.
So, I personally am gonna wait until late Fall to make the jump but I imagine that it won't take as long for Ampere to be supported, if it doesn't just work straight out of the box.
No one knows, except possible Daz, although I doubt they have access yet to a card - but as im guessing...
10 series was very slow; it took some months.
20 series, some support was quick - something like a driver update for some decent improvements. RTX specific support took some months iirc.
will it fit in my computer even if I could afford it?
I would be very surpriced if they haven't had access to a card yet, as the cards do not magically appear out of thin air on their publication date.
Some twenty years ago I was doing betatesting for a hardware company (major player at that time), and we got the cards usually about 12 months before they were released on the market.
This was mentioned in a previous thread somewhere, possibly by sevrin and probably the public beta thread but I'm pretty sure the current implementation of Iray should already support ampere unless they changed something between 2020.1.0 beta and its actual release:
https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/335016/daz-studio-pro-4-12-nvidia-iray
last post there mentions that daz studio 4.12.1.109 is already using iray 2020.1.0
so unless I'm mistaken the 30XX cards should already be supported.
If I understand correctly, the top-end card wants 3 PCI slots all to itself. So possibly not.
I'm sure they will get cards, but we have no way of knowing when that will be.
... This doesn't in anyway affect what I wrote though, as Daz can't communicate findings until any NDAs are lifted. Again something we don't know about.
Being silent about having the cards due to NDA is another thing, but I don't believe for a second that they haven't had the cards for months already.
It doesn't matter what we believe; until NDA is lifted, any information they have can't be released, which as I said previously doesn't invalidate what I said.
I said, they may know, but can't say; I offered my opinion that I didn't expect they had one yet, but I didn't know.
I'm not sure what you're trying to argue here; we are both offering opinion, other than that are you trying to offer anything constructive to the OP's request?
