How do I prevent long cuffs from following/bending with fingers?

Hi all. I am running into an annoyance when converting Just Jokin' from G1 to G2F. http://www.daz3d.com/just-jokin As you can see, the outfit comes with beautiful long cuffs that don't behave well in autofit. I have tried importing them as Gloves, Full Body and Shirt. In all cases, the parts of the cuff that extend past the hand toward the fingers end up following the finger bends and breaking the mesh.

How can I prevent this from happening? I've tried removing bones from the converted items, but that has no effect.

    You probably need to edit the weight maps, using the Geometry Editor for selection and the Node Weight Brush for adjusting the weights, to strip the influence of the hand bones (and finger bones, if necessary) and replace it with the forearm or a custom bone for adjusting the cuffs.
