No, unfortunately, there isn't. If you make Bryce large address aware, you can go to around 3.5 GB, otherwise the limit is 2 GB.

Many thanks for those two helpful answers! I'll see what I can do... IF my new machine will even let me install Bryce! [I've never had anything but XP: Windows 7 is all new territory for me!]

Works fine in WIN 7, Just be careful of where you install it.

it thinks it should go in Program Files... is that right?

Program Files (if it's 32 bit Windows) or Program Files (x86) (for 64 bit Windows). Assuming English language Windows

However most Brycers find it better to install Bryce outside of the program files by making a folder called Bryce and directing the installer to that.

This makes it easier when installing content.

Edited to add, you may also come across this problem http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/7516/

aha! well as it refused point blank to accept it in program files, that might be the next thing to try, thanks!

I actually have all my program files installed on a different drive to my OS

You can even run Bryce from an external drive

@CardinalBiggles - chohole is completely right. I have used Bryce from Win98 on up to 7 now and I have never ever installed anytghing on drive C. Disk space is cheap and logical partitions help you organise your stuff. If you have only a C-drive, create a separate folder/directory for your stuff. I have all Bryce versions from 4 installed and all work. And yes, even Bryce 4 works with LAA.

How does one make Bryce LAA?

@Eva1 - there is a flag that can be set in a program - either at compile time or later - that tells the operating system that the application wants to use the full address space of 4 GB, not just 2 GB. Here is a free tool that can do this: http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/large-address-aware.112556 and while you get this tool, I recommend to get the Process Monitor as well, also free: http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/process-monitor.113638/#post-1732756. It watches memory and CPU usage like the Windows Task Manager does, but only for the selected program, e.g. Bryce. I have a video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDZmETVO15c that should get you going.

The installation steps for LAA I have written down are as follows (although if your application is in a different location, you'll have to change that):
Large Address Aware: (after installing Bryce, to allow access to additional memory on the Windows 7 PC)
Run "Large Address Aware.exe". In the first window, click the "..." button and browse to and double-click on the Bryce executable (WINDOWS 7: "C:\Program Files (x86)\DAZ 3D\Bryce7\Bryce.exe". Check the "Step 2" box, then press the Save button, then Exit.
