Is it possible to sort the contents list into A-Z order? It shows as sorted in the actual contents folder but not in the DS Content Library pane. Version 4.6.2.118.

Are you talking about the icons in a particular folder, or the folders themselves? Or do you have multiple content folders that you want listed alphabetically?

It would be helpful to sort the multiple content folders.

You can reorder the content directories in the Content Directory Manager, accessible via Edit>Preferences>Content Library tab (or Apple menu>Preferences>Content Library tab on a Mac).

Edit>Preferences>Content Library>Daz Studio Formats>N:/Daz3d/Studio/My Daz 3D Library>Edit takes me to the library folder which is already in A-Z order. The problem is that the Content Library pane in Studio does not reflect this - the order appears to be quite random.

Folders will appear in the Content Library in the order they are listed in the Content Directory Manager, which you can change by selecting a directory and using the Move buttons at lower left.

Richard, thanks for the responses - it seems that I do not have a + to expand facility against the Daz Studio Formats. All that is showing is the location of the library folder. I imagine that I need to set up the Content Directory Manager again?

It does sound that way - do you have any entries under DAZ Studio Formats in the Content Library itself?

Yes, just 'N:/Daz3d/Studio/My Daz 3D Library'

How can I sort my Content Library by install recent date?  Mine defaults A-Z.  I'm able to do it with my Smart Content.  Thanks.

There should be a pop-up list button at the top of the pane, Sort by ... Any chnages you make should be remembered between sessions.

Not seeing a pop up in Content Library pane.  I get the "View by List/Tree/Side-by-Side" option but nothing in that area relates to sorting.

  • Sorry, I mis-read and thought it was Smart Content you were asking about.

OMFG!  THANK YOU!!!  As someone with extreme OCD about things like this, you just saved me a lot of stress over something so silly.
