Converting PBR Materials to DS Material Presets?

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a starting point on the best process to convert my existing textures into DAZ Studio material presets. I know how to import the maps (Albedo, Normal, etc) in the Surfaces tab, and even get pretty good results in iRay, but it feels like I'm missing some steps to really make the materials great. Is this the correct/best way to do it? What utilities or plugins do you use to create 100% original materials that can be saved as presets in DS and tiled pretty much on any surface?
I'm using maps at 2k and 4k (TIFFs, JPG, and PNGs).
