Felidae by AM, re-texturing into a marble statue?

This might be a strange question, but is it possible to turn AM's lions into marble statues? I'm trying to make a scene with detailed lion statues (different expressions.. mane made from marble..etc) and haven't had much luck.

I tried applying one of these textures to Genesis 8 Female.

It had seams. I don't know how it would work on a cat.

  • you either need a proceedural shader that ignores UV mapping or a 3D paint app to create your own textures

If you are using Iray and will only use one camera angle, you can always try a decal node (though I doubt it would work with the catalyzer prests and I don't know how well it works with dForce hair). Alternatively, you could use this product: https://www.daz3d.com/aslan-statues

The picture above shows that proceedural shaders do not ignore separate UV mapping. But personally I'd just use it anyway and just postwork over the seams. Occam’s Razor.

some 3Delight and Octane render ones do

iray it is possible but I don't know which specific ones do, think Oso3D might have one

I tried it with the Dforce Hair Lion but it just looks like a white lion the hair stays individual and not solid like a statue.

well Dforce hair would certainly not be suitable for a statue, just female lions maybe

The Lion in the OP is a male so I thought that would be what he was looking for.

If exported as an OBJ, dForce hair imports into other 3d apps (at least C4D) as splines, so those could be extruded/swept and then turned into a metaball, maybe. I'm experimenting right now just out of curiosity.
