Reposition a figure with different poses so the torso positions match?

I'm using figures as reference drawings for game sprites.

I've bought a pose pack (namely because it takes me a long time to make "natural" looking poses and I'm still new to Daz).

Let's say there we are working with POSE A, and POSE B. In POSE A, the arms are raised, in POSE B, the arms are lowered.

How would you go about fiddling with these poses so the torso position are exactly the same in A and B? For example, the torso is twisted slightly to the left in A, but slightly bent to the right in B. I need those torsos to be in the same place and configuration (almost exact) for both, even though the arms might be in different places. Slight subtle stretching and minor twisting is allowable, but OVERALL, the torso should be in the same area, and bent/curved the same way.

It seems my best bet is just moving the arms around myself, but I was hoping there was some number/series of numbers or preset I could fiddle around with, so I could use the torso position from one pose and apply it to a different pose, without changing the second pose's arms.

Thanks!

Select the various torso bones in the Scene view for your first figure, select "rotations" for all bones in the parameters pane, right-click, Copy -> Copy Selected Item(s). Select your second figure, right-click, Paste -> Paste to Selected Item(s).

Alternately, you could just select the arm bones for one figure and ctrl+click the other pose to apply the pose only to the selected bones.

  • Woo hoo! That worked! laughThanks muchly, Gordig!
