Changing Installation Folder in Windows 10 and how to uninstall

How do I change the installation folder when installing on Windows 10?  When I ran DazCentral it did not give me a choice where it was to be installed, but installed it in the C:\Daz 3D.  I'd like to have it installed in C:\Program Files\Daz 3D (like any well behaved program).

Also, how do I unstall Daz 3D Studio?  I have DazCentral listed in 'Apps & features' but not Daz 3D Studio?  I tried unstalling DazCentral, but that did not uninstall Daz3D Studio and I can find no uninstall program in C:\Daz 3D. Never Mind, found it.

And. what exactly is the 'Base Path Location' listed in the gear icon of DazCentral?  Google is no help with this.

My goal is to have the program files for Daz3D install in C:\Program Files (my C: drive is an SSD), and all the content files installed on my D: drive (large HDD). This was possible with the old Install Manager, is it possible with the the new DazCentral?

  • Daz Central should let you choose the startng folder (the Base Path setting), but it won't let you choose specific folders within that (that's part of the simplification it is aimed at offering). If you want to be able to set specific paths then use Install Manager instead, which is still available.
