Looking for Sport Products: Uniforms, poses, fields

Looking for Sport Products: Bundles, Uniforms, poses, fields for Baseball, Basketball, Football, Soccer, Hockey or any sport for that matter. The DAZ shop filters are not that useful. I know that I have seen them in the past.

Okay. Daz store, eh? So, just from random memory...

Rugby Uniform can work for a few different sports. (G3M)

Basketball Kit for G3M and G8M.

I like this Soccer outfit for G8F.

There are a few tennis outfits.

American Football and Hockey... eh. Might have to go back to V4/M4.

Kind of naughty one here for G3F.

There are more at the other store, I know.

Fields... those are probably better with HDRI. There's some 5-a-side soccer stuff. Basketball can cover a few things, and I can think of both indoor and outdoor sets.

    Poses... there's a lot.

American football you have to go back to Genesis: https://www.daz3d.com/football-uniform

    Ice hockey is M4: https://www.daz3d.com/hockey-player-m4-bundle

There's an outdoor rink as part of this set, but it's specifically for figure skating so you would need to add your own lines, faceoff circles, etc.: https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-ice-skating-princess-outfit-and-rink-for-genesis-8-females

As someone who desperately wants ice hockey and field lacrosse uniforms/poses/props for G8M, I feel your pain. I was actually gonna make a post about cleats and gloves for the latter, lol. I do plan to experiment with converting the M4 hockey set upward, though M4's balloon shoulders mean it'll never look as good as something native.

Disciple3d has dForce jerseys for both G8M and G8F, available for sale elsewheRe. They're easy to put your own graphics on, and while they're not game accurate or anything they'll work for casual stuff. There's also a bizarre amount of beach soccer stuff over there.

A store search for "basketball" here will turn up quite a bit. It's the national sport of Dazlandia.

  • Thanks, everyone!

Are there sports products for DAZ on the Renderosity website? How reliable are those products? Good or bad experiences with Renderosity products?

Good experience, to me. But you have to be able to unzip the files in the right location. I don't much know how to guage the reliability except to say they aren't worse than their competitors.

Yes, many sports products can be found at Renderosity, from outfits to sports arenas, etc. Beach volleyball pits are nicer there than here, for instance. Beach soccer, also.

Renderosity is fine. The storefront is reliable. It's not a scam site, especially now that they own Poser. (G*d help them.)

If you buy from there, you will need to get acquainted with the Content Library tab since most products there do not come with metadata for Smart Content.

Quality varies everywhere. Just because it's from Renderosity doesn't mean it's lower or higher quality. It all depends on what you're looking at. Renderosity has everything from new Genesis 8 to old, old Poser stuff. They have less strict standards for naughty outfits than Daz (but still more strict than Renderotica, which is a separate site)... so there's one reason to shop there - to find things you can't find here.

As for Poser stuff... some of that sports stuff will be made for Poser, but it mostly works fine for Daz. Older Poser products will generally not have the resolution of a brand new thingy, with full Iray 4K maps etc. This varies, however, and modern dforce everything Iray products are not necessarily better than every older Poser product. Renderosity is not immune to dForce-only/no-morph clothing (i.e. sheets with a hole or two).

You'll also see vendors there that are familiar to you from the Daz store, like OOT, for instance.

Renderosity has a ratings system, unlike here. Ratings can be helpful once in a while.

Rendo has ratings and reviews (great!), but unless something's changed since the last time I tried to make one, returns are dealt with by the sellers (not so great). It's best to be reasonably certain about what you plan to buy, because you may not be able to get a refund. I've had a seller be very understanding when something didn't work for me after a more recent version of Photoshop, in defiance of logic, eliminated a filter that a postwork product used (and then brought it back in a later version, presumably after Adobe realized what a stupid idea that was). I've also had a seller shrug when their product didn't work properly and basically go, "that sounds like a you problem" even though all evidence was to the contrary.

To this day I refuse to buy from that seller on Rendo. I will do so here, but only with very deep discounts (out of spite) and the full protection of Daz's return policy that takes vendors who don't care once they've got your money out of the equation (covering my tuchus).

I've bought Poser-only products and used them in DS just fine, the most recent just a couple days ago. "Poser-only" often means the materials are designed exclusively for a Poser rendering engine, which is nothing a little TLC from DS-compliant shaders can't take care of. Of course, some older products lack a lot of the attention to detail and modeling that make today's so great (and resource-hungry), and even with better materials they aren't really suitable for close-ups.

If you plan on buying lots of Renderosity content, I highly recommend purchasing RiverSoft Art's Content Wizard. Mine is currently being a little buggy, but I'm pretty sure that actually is a me problem, or at least a "my installation of DS is screwy" problem, and the PA is incredibly responsive and helpful here in the forums. You can use it to install third-party products into Smart Content, provided they are products for Daz Studio. It's set up to handle the Daz Studio file structure, not the Poser one. Poser stuff, I've found a full manual install works best for maximum control. And for stripping out layer upon layer of vanity folders, ugh.

Lots of things there are for older generation figures (M4/V4), both outfits and poses, but if you find something you really like then there are lots of excellent cross-generational clothing and pose converters available here. One helpful thing you'll find lots of at Rendo is textures for products sold here. These include things designed to make underwear look like swimwear, or add athletic striping, etc. to socks for a more complete look with a uniform. I also find products there often have a little more attention to... let's call it "masculine detail," which is nice for locker room scenes, pin-ups, etc. Rendo is a lot less shy about human anatomy in their promos, which is a perk when it comes to buying characters and more revealing garments -- you can see exactly what you're paying for.

There's still a mess of sports-themed female skimpwear to clutter up the search results, but you can also buy a rigged hang glider for under $10, which is kinda neat.

I use Content Wizard to install my Renderosity stuff, since I prefer Smart Content.  Renderosity products can be a bit quirky in their folder layout, but that also effects the Content Library.  There are some really great vendors and products there.  Wiwimax has some national flag type outfits, if those fit in with what you're looking for.
