Different size of characters

Hi there,

Recently I have created a few genesis 8 characters and some of them are like 300kb-1MB, while other have 10MB-20MB. When using the big characters in daz is very, very hard to pose them and move them around the scene while with the smaller ones is very easy?

Why is this big difference? What can I do do increase the speed and maybe lower the size?

Are you using dforce hair? Some of the file sizes can be large - at least last time I tried certain dforce hair.

Yes, I am and you are right. I had a character that had 15MB and after deleting the hair it went to 200kb. Is there any way to keep on using that hair but get rid of all the dforce part?

No, because the hair is generated by the dForce hair engine. The closest option would be to find a similar polygon hair and manually add dForce settings if it doesn't already have them.

In some products, the hair can increase the size of the saved file under certain circumstances.

Not sure if I looked, but check the settings; look for anything to do with Preview and Render. Preview might be turned on and need to be off - maybe that will make a difference.

...ok? I'm not sure what point you're trying to make.
