Thank you very much! It's an insta-buy for me this afternoon.
This flew into my basket as soon as I saw the living quarters had a bathroom and shower. I was beginning to think people in the future were musty and constipated ;)
Snagged it as soon as I saw it.
*MINE*
Awesome set! I've been needing something like this.
I'm on the fence. Not over the SET it was a instant buy, I had to have it. I'm on the fence over only knowing about these sets after you release them. We have no build up, no OH that looks great I can not wait, no way to build up a huge urge to buy it as soon as it hits the store.
Oh Well, you keep making them, I'll keep buying them. Think that's the goal in the long run so you do I buy. Deal?
And hopefully there will be the rest of the ship to go along with it. :)
I love it. Agree about the need for a futuristic privy and bath/shower. Bought this the first day it went on sale.
When I load the set I get a message that says some assets are missing.

Yet, this is yet built in content, so the default content provided with Daz Studio 4.6.
The good news is they are installed somewhere on your computer.
You can eventually check the installation path with DIM, and add the corresponding content folder in your content directory manager.
I thought it might be Daz default content so I searched for the files and they don't exist anywhere on my hard drive. No idea how they could be missing. I have the latest version of DAZ Studio. How can I get the missing files?
The default lights and shaders installation that's part of DAZ Studio 4.6 is probably what you need to install.
So true, I've seen some people make great use of WIP threads. It can definitely build momentum. And get people knowing somethings on the way
For myself, I figure, when there's something to show, and ready, put it out there and see what happens.
Thank you all for the positive words.
I do have a few more locations planned for this genre, giving a consistent look and feel over a larger complex. One section at a time. .
Thank you, FirstBastion. That fixed my problem. I love this set! If DAZ had a place to rate content this would be 5 out of 5 stars!!
You're welcome.
I'll also mention that there are a set of 40+ dedicated "Living" poses coming soon for this environment.
Great set I bought it instantly. This is probably my favorite thing you've ever done First Bastion and I have quite a few of your products. Out of curiousity, are the poses only for females? And which generation are they for?
It's good to get feedback like this Riggswolfe. We sort of build these things in a vacuum, so please sound off your opinions, because I can definitely deliver more of this. After 45 products I feel I'm entering a new creative phase, So I'll probably be retiring some of my old stuff, and making new and more interesting replacements.
The poses are for G2F, and they generally work with G2M as well, with the minor tweaks usually associated with different body types and footwear choices. And because it's for a specific location, these poses also have translation data along with the rotation data to place the figures in the scene.
Seems like a lot of open space in the middle of the set? What do you suggest for filling it?
That's where your awesome sci fi fight scene/alien attack/crew getting dressed scene figures go.
That's where your awesome sci fi fight scene/alien attack/crew getting dressed scene figures go.
That's where the scifi sofa goes to watch the wall mounted TV, just haven't built it yet. And I'll make sure whoever picked up the Living quarters will get a bit of an additional discount on the furnishings.
Well, I purchased this set because I wanted 50% off on another product I was eying for a long time.
I have my fill of these sets so really didn't need another one. But, I was surprised. The hallway is actually functional, it seems that we can take the rooms and put several of them along the hallway (just hide the hallway's doors). This makes it easy to design an entire set and place stuff inside each room to make them a personality for each set of crew members and use them as needed (great for graphic novel creators who think ahead and want the environment read to go).
The window with the background can be changed into any outdoor scene (including outer space), or changed into a monitor, along side the other three monitors in the room that can easily be made to look like a comm section by adding a comm panel (I am sure us SciFi junkies have a few of those around).
Just thought I add my two cents worth.
Surprise, now that's a good word, thanks for your comments nDelphi. I wanted to keep it universal enough so it could work on either a starship or a colony, and I'm happy you mentioned it. There's enough material zone and removable walls that allow for mix and matching and potentially including addons or other kitbash techniques.
This is a perfect interior for a number of exterior-only buildings and environments! Finally, something that just looks right for Outpost 94. :-)

Posting a few more pictures.
Hey FirstBastion - I love this product; its one of my most favourite sets. I really needed some sci-fi sleeping quarters and this fit the bill perfectly.
I'm having a little bit of trouble with the central "FloorMain" floor panel though in Iray - the textures of the metal are coming out nicely but for some reason the panel gets divided up into sections with clear black dividing lines. Have you come across this, and do you know how to get around it please?
Edit: Ureka! Sorted it - I had to put the texture map into the Displacement Strength map and whack the value up to 2. Looks perfect now. Sorry to bother you; I'm learning something new every day at the moment.
Happy to hear you worked it out. Please post a pic, I would love to see how the set looks rendered in Iradium.
How configurable is this? I've gotten other sets only to find most of it was baked together.
Well I hope FirstBastion corrects me if I'm wrong but...
Depends what you mean by configurable. I would say pretty darn configurable from my perspective - pretty much every surface can be configured individually, you can move around things like the ladder and chairs etc. You can add another room onto the corridor.
What is it you'd hope to be doing?
@ FirstBastion: I'll try to do an Iray render for you, but bear in mind I'm still very much a n00b, so theres probably people who can do a much better job of it for you than I :)
