Turbulent Long Hair for Genesis 3 and 8 Females Question

Hello all, I bought the Turbulent Long Hair for Genesis 3 and 8 Females earlier today, and it does say it comes in two versions (a and b for genesis 3 and 8 respectively). That is also reflected in the product once installed, however... when I tried the two versions, not only do they have the exact same name (so in the scene tab it comes up as turbulent hair and turbulent hair (2) etc) but it also look Exactly the same. Which makes me wonder why there is two different versions for g3f and two different versions for g8f?

Figured I would come in here and see if someone possible knew, or if I'm lucky to have OOT come in and elighten me :)

  • Hey,

thanks for buying, hope you will have much fun with the hair.

The difference in both versions is the way they conform to your figure's movement, it is also explained on the additional thumbnails that are in the product's parent folder. The A version is conforming to the figure's movement in a "standard" way and is recommended for use with rather suble poses and subtle wind styles. The A version however can cause distortion on more extreme poses and wind styles. This is when the B version can be used. It rather behaves like a hairprop. This is recommended for use with more extreme poses and strong wind.

So in case you are doing portrait renders with the hair, you can use version A without the need of too many adjustments. In case you want to create an action scene with a running figure and have the hair fly away, you should rather use version B and have almost no distortion.

    Hope this helps :)

REALLY LIKE this approach!  So many times longer hair gets all janky when you bend all over the place, and having two options here is AMAZING!  I don't know if this is commonplace and I've just missed it, but I've put this in my cart just because of that extra little detail!

Thank you OOT! That helps, and sounds really great :) I think I may have missed those thumbnails that explained things, either that or the smart content has been messed up as seems to happen a lot lately. I'll look into it next time I go into studio :)
