constant hang when clearing scene

This has been going on for a little while, not sure when it started exactly what with a new PC and reinstalling all my content, etc. But it has gotten seriously annoying. If I have any sort of complex scene, if I clear it either to start fresh or when loading a different scene Studio completely hangs up and I have to kill it. Similar problem is that even if I close it properly, its still hanging around in memory sometimes.

Anyone else notice this sort of behavior or know what I might do about it?

As stated, new PC. Fresh install of everything on Win7 64 bit. Latest Studio as installed by DIM.

Quite a lot of content by some standards.

some complex scenes do this to me as well, my practice is once I see the hang I wait few minutes for it to stop, I end the Studio session and relaunch studio, otherwise it will hesitate EVERY time I go to create a new scene until I quit.

Best practice for me is when closing a large scene just close and reopen Studio,

I've seen this behavior as far back as DS3

    Windows 7 64 bit, DS 4.6.3.50 64 bit, Nvidia GTS 250 1GB, 12 GB DDR3 1.6GHz.

The Task Manager is still your Friend for larger complex files as in to End the Task. It, DAZ Studio, will allow the user to exceed the Stack limit if the excess it not considered that far above the limits. This is determined by Total RAM free before Render, once the render has been done the calculations needed to render the file or the Textures be converted can hold RAM thinking. The Software is seeing the RAM as not used yet. It should work just fine, mostly does on my PC but has happened in many of my complex scenes.

I have noticed this in the newest version of DAZ Studio and if I am correct DAZ Studio is clearing something in the background to free up RAM.

You are 100% correct, if you set and watch the TASK Manager it is indeed going down at a steady rate, but at a very slow to clear rate I add. No Idea why that happens, I just assumed the pointer is hunting the end of the RAM in use every pass and never locks to the full section for a flash clear we expect to see. One reason I think it is related to Stack over run, the pointer is expected at X but is really over on Z.
