DAZ not using my GTX 1660

Hi! So, I just bought a new GPU to render in Iray and I'm facing the very same problem as the guy in this thread:
https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/314056/gtx-1660-ti-not-working-in-daz3d-to-render

The thing is, I'm using DAZ 4.12 while he is using 4.10. Should I make a clean reinstall of DAZ Studio?

-I already have Nvidia studio drivers installed.

-I was rendering on CPU before.

-Tried ticking OptiX Prime Acceleration on and off - no change.

-I ran Red Dead Redemption 2 to make some tests and the new card is working normally.

I was not able to see what the problem is, so I appreciate anyone willing to help me out.

  • Which nVidia Studio drivers?

  • Which nVidia Studio drivers?

    The latest one, 452.06

  • Where are you seeing the Optix prime option? Exactly which version of DS is this - Help>About Daz Studio

  • I'm currently using version 4.12.0.86. The Optix option is right there above "interactive devices".

  • I'd forgotten its removal was that late. I'm not sure, then, why the card would fail - other than lack of memory (the version of iray in 4.12 does send more data to non-RTX cards than previous versions).

  • Is there any way to rollback my installation from 4.12 to 4.11?

  • Not unless you kept a back up of the installers (though you can ask support for an older version). I'm not sure it would help, though I can't recall when Turing support was added. It might be worth using DDU to uninstall the drivers, then reinstall them.

  • How much ram does your GPU have and how many lights do you have in your scene?

  • I had a similar problem and just reinstalled 4.11. It is pity this bug is still not resolved after almost an year after the release of 4.12.

Which bug? The fact that DS4.12 uses more VRAM than 4.11 for non-RTX cards is not a bug, that's due to the fact that it needs to emulate RTX features.
