    Bette adds cute to established characters like a treat - this is Alexandra 8 with Bette shapes added

    Oh that is cool. I guess what she brings to the table is the stylized nose, which emphasizes Alexandra’s upturned nose even more. I’m pretty sure Cartoonized  also had a similar nose morph. Not something i need right away but added to my wish list.

    Yeah, and making the eyes and head really big too... that was with Bette at 39% and Alexandra 8 at 100% (using Alexandra textures)

    Bette and Toon Generations 4 combine together fine, too. Here is 50% of each one. The only difference here is the materials. I added Bette's toon lashes in this render, too.

    The 50/50 mix is so cute! Thank you for sharing your results with us! :D

    I think the 50/50 mix is the best of both worlds. I really like it, too.

    I like the way the original character is still recognizable. That is definitely Alexandra's nose. Nice job!

    Here's a Bette/TG4 50/50 with clothes and hair. I do like that Primavera hair. I tried the pigtails version, but it didn't scale right to her head. The ties were in the wrong place. So, I switched to the Romance version.

    @nonesuch00

    While I have seen more than a few Bette Davis films the one that was the biggest influence I actually haven't either, but this is just such a look

    I am 100% comfortable admitting it played some major influence on my cover promo (also the makeups with the smokey eyeshadow)

    Oh my gosh oh my gosh I'll be able to make Elsa blush

    I actually made a Elsa morph for the Girl 6 way back in the day - In a way shes sort of the spiritual great grandmother of this lady - although oddly I was never a big Frozen fan. Croods was 100% the better animated movie that year and I will defend this take with my life. (hey disney did you know you could have a character and their mother and not give them the same exact face? and also have the mother not be dead? amazing)

    @barbult

    OMG all your renders are so flipping adorable!!!

    really love this one

    (it does a better job at showing off the bump map than any of my promos. :O I handpaint some nifty knuckles into the bump map and then don't do any promos showing them off)

    also that tux by protozoon is just glorious isnt it?

    re bette vs toon generations Idk if its me but Bette reads as a bit older, which is sort of weird as Bette's eyes are a smidge bigger and face is more round w. curvier obviously, but also the ratio of the head hands and eyes to the body and the thighs to the shin. I'd say toon generations is more cutsey wheras Bette is a bit more glamourous (but in a value neutral way)

    also I agree that 50/50 blend is super adorable (and with that hair there are some major Merida vibes)

    She looks curiously hip in any era. I have to admit since all these old movies & TV series in black & white have started showing up with my ROKU stick I've enjoyed these older movies lately.  I used to groan as a kid if a show was in B&W but it's often more dramatic.

    I remember watching the Wizard of Oz as a kid and wondering how her dull B&W (or was it even sepia?) world at home was somehow better than the colorful exciting world of Oz (after the witch was dead.) I would have stayed in Oz lol.

    There is a reason for that! Well with early color at least. Early color processes for film generally required things to be pretty brightly and evenly lit, so they couldn't have strong tonal contrast. Technicolor required everything to be incredibly brightly lit which doesn't really make it easy to do dramatic shadows

    Depends on the black and white world - I'd definitely enjoy spending time somewhere nice and expressionist

    I'd take that over Oz for sure

    (That's not a knock on Oz I'm just really into dramatic contrast and no right angles)

    I mixed Bette 50% and Alawa 50% and let the randomizer throw in a few other things.

    (Yes, I know, the dForce on this dress is poor.)

    Wow she's really pretty

    Oh, that is fabulous! Keep them coming. I like the hair, poses and outfits you are using, too.

  • I  just got her the other day. Just a quick Halloween render to play with her.

  • I couldn't resist getting Bette. She hits all my buttons. I had a little fun mixing her with my favorite Mousso characters and I like how she turned out.

    This is pure Bette shape with some borrowed Toon Generation hair and clothing. The eye makeup is from one of the "Extreme" packages.

    Edit:I replaced the render with a more flattering focal length.

    @barbult - Very cute - the black hair and blue eye combo is striking! It looks like the extreme makeup works great for toons.

    I'm loving all the Bette renders. :D

    Bette renders nicely in Filament with a little tweak to the skin to darken it, because Filament isn't using the SSS or translucency, as far as I can tell.

    Thank you. Yes that is Filament. I deleted the opacity maps on the toon hair and the dress.

    Great idea. Makes for good toon hair! I do hope that the transparency thing will eventually be something they can fix. :) For now, though, deleting the opacity maps sounds like a nice work around - at least for toon type renders. This came out really cool.

    I made a little very short Filament animation with Bette. I put it in my Dropbox. Can you see it?
