any good video tutorials for newbies about creating quality textures for characters?

I'm very much a newbie to the whole character creation for Daz thing and wanted to eventually make marketable characters if my work quality is very good although only time, skill and trial and error will tell if I have what it takes or not. In the meantime I am after any recommendations here for video tutorials on how to properly and skillfully create textures for G8 characters (I plan to do it in Blender eventually) I just at least wanted to study the process and see what needs to be done and what needs to be worked on the most.

I see some tutorials around the daz store but they all seem to be for clothing and such items?! does the same process apply regardless of what you are working on? anyway if anyone knows where I can find a reliable good teaching on this not so easy art pls let me know thx.

I'd look on youtube; don't need for Studio specific.

How about this tutorial. It is for Substance Painter but would give an overview of the process steps involved for texturing a face.

It seems like a two-step process; understanding how to texture in your app of choice and figuring out how to set up the textures you made in DS, so they can look good. Tutorials from other apps helps too, since the basic concepts can be applied to Blender.

It depends too what you want to do. You can quickly and easily utilize overlay layers in Photoshop and/or apply various brushes. I know this is short on details but what are you looking to do? Just add a little texture for plastic looking renders? Put a 5 o'clock shadow on a face? Add scars and bruises? Make a character look like they've been crawling through mud?

This video on YouTube is probably a good starting point https://youtu.be/Y0xBv_taJPQ.
