Your Favorite Hair Salon!

Hey Everybody!  I'm going to do something I've not done in a long while and (most likely) pay full price for a 3D item.  The issue is that I NEED a hair salon right now to finish something up for the client.  This is going to be a primary location for a story point, so I really want it to be a "good" model.  I'm leaning towards this one:  https://www.daz3d.com/chez-lucille-hair-salon

Does anybody have any experience with any of the many products either on this site or others that they would like to reccomend?  Or is there a reason maybe a different one is "better", in your opinion, from the one I linked (with regards to rigging or textures or whatever)?

I know it's subjective, but this is when the collective intellegence of a forum really shines!  I don't care much about price, just quality.  Where's your favorite virtual 3D space to get your hair cut?!?

Thanks in advance!!

  • I would go with Slosh's work, personally.  I've used his sets before, and they are well done and fairly easy to maneuver and get different camera viewpoints in.

Hey I own some of your stuff!!  OK, cool, thanks for the advice!  From the promos, that was my feeling, as well, but I thought I'd shop for second opinions!

Slosh(Werks) makes some great products yes, and this one is excellent.

For a different style this one is pretty good too:

I did some tests of the proportions to see if the chairs etc. fit the characters, it worked reasonably well.

Wow!  Thank you for doing all of this legwork for me!  It's true, sometimes with stuff like this the proportions are so out of whack it can't be fixed, or looks weird, so I'm very grateful for all of the effort you went through for me!

It's on sale, also, which is great!  Maybe I'll start with this one, since the price is hard to pass up, and then also get the Sloshworks one because of all of the accessories, and combine the two!  :)

Lots of work ahead, but super exicted to do it!  Thanks!

No problem, these renders were actually some I did when I tested the product a while ago.  wink

Here's the pose presets if you can use them, they're made with this G8F character so may need some adjustment for others:
