Resetting orientation / coordinate system to global

Hello,
I merged a prop into my scenery. That prop got different XYZ axis that aren't orientated on my global XYZ axis of the scene I merged it into. So when I want to move it in the global XY plane it uses of course its own coordinate system and it's off the XY plane. Same with rotation.
Is there a way to re-set its coordinates the way I want?

The Tool Settings pane has an option to select the coordinate system to use for transform tools - that doesn't affect the sliders, though, which always work with the object space, but it does reorient the Viewport gizmo and translates changes made with it into the object space.
Thank you for the answer. However I do not find differents coordinate systems in the Tool Settings pane for translation, rotation or the universal tool. What I would like to have is something like "this is the new 0,0,0 for the object and the axes run like this."
Didn't notice that the translation sliders in parameters however always stays within the original coordinate system. That was really helpful!
