how to light a room?

hello, guys.
i'm trying to create a lighting in an indoor room. to create this scene i used a floor near the ceiling with almost invisible lighting.
I would like the "reflex" of the sun on the bed, I tried to use a lighthouse but it doesn't work, you could help me.
Anyway, if you have other suggestions to light the scene, I'm just glad.

Most rooms have lamps, fireplaces or candles for lighting.  Put in some of those.  They give a more natural effect and more interesting shadows than ghost lights.  They allow you to focus on what's important in the scene.

You can also reduce the Exposure setting in tonemapping if you only want to use an HDRI or a DS spot to have light flood into the room from outdoors, which helps if you don't want to adjust light levels in postwork.

Anyway, this is lit with the lamp you see and the light coming in through the window.

And remember that when lighting directors light indoor sets for movies, they do not depend on 'realistic' lighting or sunlight (and if they are shooting on a soundstage, they fake window sunlight, of course).  It is easy to think, 'Oh, Iray makes lighting look just like a camera,' but forget that photographers do a lot of lighting work to get a good look in their pictures.

Using the rendering headlight can actually make the result look kind of 'real', if the look you want is someone taking a flash photo.

  • There's a couple of variations of this: https://www.daz3d.com/iray-ghost-light-kit

It let's you add light without a visible source.
