Have you ever actually seen any kind of ninja outfit in person? The whole concept is pure fantasy...

Haha I was going to start a thread with about the same title! I like the suit and will get it but will go with a bit more practical footwear when I use it, unless I'm doing some sort of Halloween party! I've appreciated this artist's work for a long time.

even with that "ninjas never really have a full "official outfit in the past" the same goes for the "dogi used to practice martial arts, originally you don't had a "official outfit", the same goes ninjas they normally dressed like "normal peoples" because they needed to "blend" with peoples to assassinate or infiltrate in the places, only the "modern ninjas do have a outfit.

but going back to the main topic i can't stop of laught on that this outfit remembered me this "old one:

but with heels and "less cloth".

    From that same link:

While the image of a ninja clad in black garb (shinobi shōzoku) is prevalent in popular media, there is no written evidence for such attire.[87] Instead, it was much more common for the ninja to be disguised as civilians. The popular notion of black clothing is likely rooted in artistic convention; early drawings of ninja showed them dressed in black in order to portray a sense of invisibility.[55] This convention was an idea borrowed from the puppet handlers of bunraku theater, who dressed in total black in an effort to simulate props moving independently of their controls.

yeah ninjas never had a really "outfit" much like many martial artists the notion of "outfit come much later when it's started to become "popular as matial art than a actually group of peoples under the order of the shogun.

    Great quote, right there:

Simply suggesting that a ninja would wear whatever he (or she) deemed suitable for the occasion. Now, I have my doubts that ever included stilettos, but, I really don't mind either way. If stilettos had been common 300 years ago, then some ninjas would've worn them, simply to blend in with the crowd.

  • So let me get this right: you are all saying Ninjas (real or imagined), a group associated with stealth, infiltration, assassination, and other sinister arts, may have worn stilletto heels?

Okay, fine.  I'll withdraw my comment and shut up.

You gotta admit, stiletto heels are pretty good for piercing the thick hides of dinosaurs.

A ninja in stealth might wear an evening gown and a little clutch purse to the heals.

Stiletto heels make a pretty darn good weapon if wielded correctly ;)

One can never have too many ninjas at one's disposal. Realistic ninjas, anime ninjas, comic-book ninjas, post-apocalypse ninjas, cyberpunk ninjas, robo ninjas, Mortal Kombat ninjas - the wise master has a ninja for every occasion!

Nah, Ninjas were real and still exist, though there is only one proper ninja left. And his outfit looks NOTHING like that.

    https://www.criminalelement.com/kunoichi-female-ninja-spies-medieval-japan-susan-spann/

By contrast, a kunoichi could gain her target’s trust until he allowed her intimate access, at which point she could attack—when both his pants and his guard were down.

Shinobi training for both genders focused on utilizing the ninja’s personal strengths to best advantage. In medieval Japan, where women were often prized for beauty rather than skill, a kunoichi’s beauty was one of her most valuable—and deadly—weapons.

But that doesn’t mean the female ninja depended exclusively on her looks. In combat, kunoichi were just as deadly, and as well-trained, as any other shinobi.

Hang around, there are heels everywhere. I seem to recall a space suit with heels, but I could be wrong.

  • She's dressed as a stab-o-gram girl to infiltrate a birthday party..

  • One good swift kick and her victim is down with a spiked heel in the face.  Not exactly what I'd wear for a stealthy approach or quick getaway, but it certainly can be an improvised weapon. :)

... And after looking at it, it isn't my idea of a Ninja outfit.

All black seems to be the trope for them, and as already mentioned, I've never seen heals on them. But, it looks like a nice outfit, other than not resembling the name.

And no pants, because apparently pants impede stealth.

Let's be honest, this is a BDSM fetish gear.

I had a hearty laugh when I saw the promos of that outfit laugh

I don't mind impractical/silly/sexy Ninja outfits as long as they are not the only option (which they aren't). Currently I have the Silk Shadow Outfit on my wishlist, possibly the single most ludicrous "warrior" outfit in the entire store. I also think it's awesome and hot. What can I say, I was a teenager in the 90es and will always have a soft spot for that kind of nonsense.

What made me laugh about todays Ninja Outfit is the combination of elements that, in my eyes, look hilarious together.

From the waist up she looks all business, like a Ninja in a fictional world might dress.

Then you have her exposed legs, which looks a little odd to me... but ok, you might say the outfit is inspired by the kind of leotards worn by gymnasts and dancers. Perhaps this fantasy Ninja is doing backflips and pirouettes... it's not completely off-base. It's a trope for characters like Black Widow or Psylocke to fight that way.

Then you get to her feet and she's wearing... sensible secretary pumps? BWAHAHAHAHA

Ok, fine, the heels are probably a skosh too high for an actual secretary. Still, stylistically, the shoes remind me of something a younger conservative would wear to work, probably combined with a sheath dress or pencil skirt.

The whole outfit just looks really funny to me. Something like Anime Ninja, Jade Tiger, or aforementioned Silk Shadow may not be any less silly, but I think do a better job of giving us a cohesive fantasy.

  • Yeah, I'd have gone with boots, thigh high or at least knee high.

Hmm..  How about fishnet stockings and a suspender belt?  That would work too.

yeah, I have three ninjas in my kitchen. a Ninja food processor, a Ninja blender, and a ninja airfryer.. And as for the high heels on the kitchen floor, those are from my slobby wife.
