Use to just select figure load hair....bingo.
Can someone please direct me to manual, tutorial,.forum post that gives comprehensive details.
Anything that would give me direction.
I am totally lost when using (not to mention buying products that are lying dormant)

Does the hair appear when you render, and look OK?
Does the hair appear when you render, and look OK?
Following your insructions in another post, I managed to get the hair to appear in the viewport.....but not the render.
Seriously, think about this, if it were not for you over the years, I would be at a total loss.
I am not lazy, I do not mind reading instructions.
I have tenacity, I will stay with something long past the point of common sense.
If you know the solution to my problem, do not tell me.
But.
Somewhere there are instructions for this.
I sincerely do not want to keep relying on you to solve my problems. You do enough.
A link to what I have to know would be of enormous help.
I thank you now and fot the countless times you have responded to posts of mine, when noone else has
@bicc39 Let us know what hair you are using? It might help us determine what your issue is.
i had the same problem recently... on dforce hair i had rendered successfully in the past, it had me scratching my head for hours.
Don't know if this was the actual solution but i had the surface selection tool highlighted when i changed tool the hair rendered
Yes, tool selection can be an issue if the hair will preview but not render
All dforce hairs present problems, had to go back months to find "normal hair" that would work.
All through the blogs, galleries, product images, there are great looking dforce hairs,.... I have over 20 of them.
NONE ARE WORTH IT, ALL HAVE BASIC ISSUES.
Obviously it is not the products, it rest with me.
But there is no way people buy these, select a figure, click and render.
There must have been at sometime ,a tutorial explaining their use.
It is degrading to have to come here to beg for instructions.
What stops me is that the only person who has consistently answered my questions has been Mr.Haseltine.
If not for him would have thrown in the towel years ago. I hate to be a bother to him
There are certain products that are issued with either no or scant instructios for use.
In this case there is a batch.
And the most frustrating part is that I have no use for animation.
So to end my diatribe, is there a set of instuctions somewhere that explains the care and feeding and use of dforce hairs?
Thank you.

They should work - some require you run a simulation first, but usually that's no different from handling dForce cloth, while others (mainly shorter styles) are fine without simulating. If you hae the Universal tool selected (or any other posing tool) then they really should render something - even if it looks like the Bride of Frankenstein in the case of hairs that need simulating.
