Smart Content Question

I have some products that I've had to uninstall manually...and now they are showing up as broken links in my Smart Content. I don't usually use Smart Content, but I must admit that it's annoying as all hell to see those broken links. How do I go about getting rid of them? I've already gone through and removed all the data by manually downloading the product and verifying folder by folder what needed to be removed. So for example, if I go to the actuall Product Library tab, there's nothing there...the product is gone. But how do I get it off the Smart Content tab?

IIRC there's an option called "remove orphaned references" in the Content DB Maintenance window accessible via the menu in Smart Content tab.

Yeah I saw that suggestion in other threads, but I don't see that at all...not sure if it was removed or moved with an update.

You should be able to remove them from the database by deleting these entries in Content Library pane.

I can't find anything in the content libray pane - the product is gone. All data has been manually removed from the My 3D Library folder. The only thing that still persists is those broken links on the Smart Content. If you click on them and then tell it to navigate to the product folder, it goes nowhere.

Was this a character you created originally?  If so you can find it here:

    Products>L>LOCAL USER

Look for the offending file, select it, right click and select "Remove Orphaned Reference.."

No...when I had to re-install windows, somehow my DIM can't seem to find stuff that was already installed when I try to uninstall it. When I go to uninstall it, it says "not found" despite having restored the manifest file and continuing on with the same exact file structure as before. (I didn't lose my Daz folder or DIM folder at all in the wipe...just my OS drive that had the manifest file in documents...which was backed up and restored to it's original location once the OS was re-installed.) So anything I had installed prior to my windows wipe I have to uninstall it manually. I honestly don't know why it gives me grief but it is what it is. Anyways...sometimes when I uninstall stuff manually, even after having removed all the data, etc, it still shows up as broken links in the Smart Content.

If DIM can't find the installed files, I would check the Content Library install path in DIM and make sure it matches the Content Library path where the files where originally installed to.

It does...already checked. The files are there, DIM just doesn't realize it. Really, all I want to do here with this thread is figure out how to get rid of the broken links in Smart Content.

Do you mean DIM lost the manifestfiles that tell it what was installed?

At this point all I care about is getting rid of the broken links in my Smart Content from stuff that I've manually uninstalled.
