External Drive Help
Hello, everyone.
I know this gets asks many times.
I have a 1 TB internal drive on my computer and it got filled up. My husband factory reset the computer (It is for Daz 3d and nothing else. It was no big deal). I want to run DS Studio off the computer, but I don't have enough room on it for the Library Content. I have two 4 TB external hard drives. I would like to have one of them be for Daz 3d. But every time I try, everything gets mixed up. I put DS on my computer and then went to DazCentral and changed the Base Path Location to my external hard drive. It installs all over again and freezes at 50 percent. I tried the other external hard drive, and it froze at 57 percent.
I researched online and YouTube. I am not the smartest tool in the shed with computers. A monkey would figure this out before I do. I know this is human error, but I can't figure it out, even if my life depended on it.
Can any help me, in dummy terms?
-Thank you,
Tracie.

For this you would do better to use Install manager, which allows you to set separate paths rather than just the one base path. https://www.daz3d.com/install-manager-info Once installed, you can click the gear icon and go to Advanced Settings. I'd guess, if you keep the zips, you will want to chnage the package Archive to one of your externals and the Install path for content to the other - if you want applications on C: you can leave that path alone. Install Daz Studio, install your content, then when you launch DS either download this script and drag it into the Viewport or paste the whole script into Window>Panes(Tabs)>ScriptIDE and click Execute http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/scripting/api_reference/samples/file_io/install_manager_config_import/start - that will sync DS to use the same locations as DIM.
