geografts disconnecting?

Sometimes as I am working with a figure in daz3d the geografts disconnect.  I tried searching google and the forums for trouble-shooting tips but came up empty.  I am fairly new to daz.  Are there any common issues I should be aware of or any trouble-shooting advice?  Thanks in advance.

It's probably because of the geometry editor tool being selected; it changes how strand hair behaves so could be that as it's a geocraft.

    It definitely affects geografts, too.

  • Several tools that deal with individual vertices disconnect geografts. From the built-in tools, the geometry editor and the weight map brush do; Mesh Grabber has to disconnect geografts too.
The dForce hair machinery is tied to this mechanism as well, so dForce hair disappears from the scene whenever geografts are disconnected, and shows up again when they are reconnected.

  • Ok.  Thanks.  So is it possible to reconnect a disconnected geograft then?  How would I do that?

If the tool is the problem, just switch back to the Universal tool, or any other than the ones I've mentioned. (All the tools are in the "Tools" menu, and there's a toolbar for them too.)

Hit ALT+SHIFT+U and tell us if there's still a problem.
