Problem getting library on external to show up on new computer

Okay, so I built a new computer recently, and I figured well I have my library on an external and  I have had no trouble shifting from one computer to another before... until now,  the top folder appears, but there is nothing in it... Anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong?

At a guess, the drive letter assigned to the disk changed.

The install of DS is new so it shouldn't remember the drive letter it had before... Like I said it is a new computer with a fresh install of DS on a new drive. Just trying to get DS to see the content that is on the external I used on the other computer.

I misread what you wrote, I thought you said it worked at first on the new machine and then that stopped.

How are your content directories setup on the new machine?

Sounds like you are looking at the default Content Library which is empty, not the one where your content actually is.

Content Library Manager is the tool to use to add your "real" Content Library into the program.

Well I meanty that in the past I had shifted that external with loads of content from computer to computer without issue, until this new computer.

I have loaded DS as normal on the C drive and I alos loaded a few items on there as well to test something out that I had bought, and the items I put on the new SSD are there and they work fine, but when I did a search to find the old files on the external, it picked up the top folder that the content is in, but when I open the folder in DS it is empty.

The which? Is that something separate from DS?

Sorry, Content Directory Manager inside DS, here's one post about it.

Thanks, that gave me an idea to try and it worked. I just right clicked Daz Studio Formats and it gave me an option to find a folder to  use. I had not thought of doing that before. so it worked. Thanks again everyone.
