Thanks for all the replies . Seems like I'll be waiting for at least a month :(

We really don't know how long it will be.

  • @nicstt  I have been using FE edition cards since the 10x series. I have never had a single problem. I understand the main issue with them is that you can't overclock. With a 3090 you should not have to overclock (we hope). The FE also looks really nice. I think you are making the right choice. I will be looking for a 3090 later this month. I have my fingers crossed I will be  able to get one and at the proper price. I won't pay a scalper a premium just to get one in hand, out of principle pretty much. Nvidia should have realized the demand would be high. I wonder whats up with the short supply issue.

  • I just put in my 3090 today and tried DAZ and no workie, was gonna post but then found this therad. sad

I hope there is an update soon.

The beta was updated yesterday to include Ampere support. Have you tried that?

  • The beta is working brilliantly for me with the 3090 as of yesterday. Happy days.

I'm not interested in overclocking; it puts additional strain on hardware that rendering already pushes more than games do.

Where did you guys get it? Are these the FE cards or brands like EVGA? It is sold out everywhere. Also how much were the cards?

I am in the same boat, I have the 3080, but I kept my 980ti so I can still use Daz Studio.

Do you still have your older graphics card to reinstall so that you can keep on working?

I am doing this as a hobby, so I do not mind waiting and, I rather have them work a bit longer but get it right, then rushing it.

The current Public Build (beta) does now have support for the new cards.

  • I just picked up my RTX 3090 but am unable to run Iray. After doing some searching, I wasn't able to find this "Public Build (Beta)" mentioned. Can someone point me in the right direction, please? Thank you so much!

Is there a link available to the Beta to enable use of Ampere ?

You need to "purchase" the DS beta first, and then you can download the latest version with DIM (there's no standalone installer, it has to be installed with DIM).

I confirm. My rtx3090 works with Daz (the latest version of Daz Studio 4.12 (Win 64-bit) Public build +beta+). I downloaded the update via install manager.

  • Can't wait....

So, thanks to comments and info gained from this thread tonight in regards to the RTX 3090 and DAZ Studio compatability, I <GULP> did some research and ended up ordering the following after being ASSURED that the 3090's are in stock with Dell Alienware and not back ordered.  I have been using Alienware computers for over ten years and the four that I have owned have all been rock solid performers.  The downside, is I just ordered a new one last year to take advantage of the RTX2080 Ti technology.  Sheesh! This one simply HAS to last me for a while now.

    Configuration:
    Processor: AMD Ryzen™ 9 3950X (16-Core, 64MB L3 Cache, Max Boost Clock of 4.7GHz)
Operating System : Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit, English
    Video Card: NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3090 24GB GDDR6X
Chassis Options: Dark Side of the Moon chassis with High-Performance CPU Liquid Cooling
    Power Supply: 1000W
Memory: 64GB Dual Channel HyperX™ FURY DDR4 XMP at 3400MHz
Hard Drive: 2TB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD

I always end up ripping out the HD on any new computer and put something larger in. I've been using a 2TB SSD in this current machine and running DAZ Studio off D drive with no issues. I also do A LOT of graphics work in Photoshop.  I use an old Alienware for any non-console gaming I might do so that is not an issue here.  I may start getting into a little video (Drone) soon.  I sure hope I can put this new beast through its paces and get my money's worth out of it.  I feel a little nauseous right now, but 10496 CUDA cores and 24GB of VRAM help to take the edge off.

@RenderMonkey - Did you download the absolute latest nVidia Drivers from their website?  And in DAZ Studio (BETA) have you checked the Render Settings/Advanced tab to ensure the 3090s are selected there?

Although it worked well at first (and really fast!), right now I'm having trouble with the 3090:

  • Daz Studio 4.14.08 seems to be working with the RTX 3090.  It was not working with the 4.12 Beta version for rendering and Iray preview.

Those that are still trying to find a card - try EVGA.  When they initially sold out I clicked on the notify button hoping to be alerted to when they were in stock again... it seems they have started using that notify button as a way to reserve cards and offer them to you for sale.  I got a mail 2 days ago from EVGA saying that I was in the queue for a purchase offer - it gave me 8 hours to decide to make the purchase for the card that I wanted it to notify me about so I did and today the card arrived.  Good luck and don't give in to the scalpers!!

  • I just installed my 3090 today..Asus Tuf 3090 OC....and found..with 4.12 I cant render in iray at all..spend half a day benchmarking and testing my new GPU, I can confirm the issue is NOT My GPU..it appears to not work with 4.12 still, and I really dont want to impliment 4.14 filament yet...so..any thoughts? Can someone really confirm that it DOES work with 4.14, as opposed to it "seems to be working?" Thanks...I love the gpu..its very very fast...and in gaming looks great..Daz is a hobby..and I can wait for the support...but hope it comes sooner than later with 30 series now on the way to becoming mainstream.

P.S.  I cant do render previews either

  • Just installed a 3090 today..working with Daz 4.12 (dont want to go to filament yet) and I can confirm that even with the latest Nvidia studio drivers (or game ready)  456.71 daz will render NOTHING in Iray preview or Render mode..I have tested my gpu ad nauseum today for hours, the card is working fine and all systems check out well, its definitely Daz..two days ago I could render splendidly with my 1080TI, quite quickly even but wanted the new card for gaming and especially to use the higher Vram to render more complex scenes in daz..as even the 11 vram is a limiting cap with the 1080ti, so..nothing to do but wait until Daz figures this out, anyone else had ANY Luck with the 3080/3090 series cards? Im not trying to whine, Im grateful to have the card as I built a new system in November and just today got my hands on the new card.

I could be wrong but this applies to the Daz PRO 4.14 and Pro Beta 4.12..Im running the free version, so..I'm not quite sure unless Im missing something that the free version of Daz 4.14 supportes 30 series cards, thoughts?

The free version becomes Pro once you enter the serial number (My Account\Serial Numbers), there is just one program.

Thanks for the heads up..but I dont see any account number to enter..I see on the daz render workspace the drop down window "connect" then my account..but it leads to a dead Daz page ;(
