Daz and VR request?

I keep getting notifications in my Firefox browser asking me if I want to allow Daz to connect to my VR. What’s that about?

Wishful thinking on my part, LOL

Wouldn't it be cool to get a notification, then click yes, put on the headset and then be in a virtual store with an option to start DS in VR.

Yes. Didn’t you mention in another thread that you have Virtual Desktop? Can you use DS or go inside Daz scenes with it? Maybe Daz added something and I should click yes next time. I pre-ordered the Quest 2 and will probably get Virtual Desktop then but I’m not sure what the advantage is over Big Screen Beta. It would be cool if Daz and PAs (especially Stonemason) did VR promos for their products so we could walk inside them!

They're afraid we'd steal the silverware.

I do use Virtual desktop, but an app has to have actual VR support in able to view it in actual VR space. In VD is just like viewing it in desktop, only bigger. Blender has VR support and it's trippy modeling in VR space within Blender as opposed to just seeing it in desktop.

I did get DAZ Studio to work with my Oculus so that I could see the viewport as VR and move around the model. There's a thread somewhere on this forum that explains how to do it but it is quite a while ago and my Oculus is on loan to my son at the moment. Something involving two cameras slightly offset, IIRC.

Maybe this was what I used ... https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/4564516/#Comment_4564516

Wow, thanks! I will check that out.

  • Unreal engine is also an option. It's pretty easy to use with VR.
