PW Customizable Pirate Ship: Gun Hatches

This is a question for one who had purchased the PW Customizable Pirate Ship.

It has to do with the Gun Hatches.

In none of the promo images are the Gun Ports shown Closed?
So I am wondering Do they Closed?
If one as just sailing, the guns would be pulled in, with the Hatches closed and dogged against the wind, waves and worse, a lucky shot from the deck of another ship.

Having the guns out advertises you are up to no good something no good Pirate would do.
It would be like sailing with the Colors flying and only the King’s ships did that foolishness.
It might even be against the CODE

You get along side, acting all peaceable, get them at ease, and then state your demands, while pushing the loaded guns out, making sure you get the first shot and hopefully take down their mast.

So could someone tell me, do the Hatches close?

They open and close individually, and can be anywhere in between, via sliders.
