just downloaded DAZ studio and installed it and also installed the genesis essentials but when I start up DAZ studio there is no genesis figure , i know there should be as I used DAZ a bit on my old pc but gave it up to go back to poser as I always struggled with DAZ,but over time Ive ended up buying some items with out reading everything (my fault entirely) and they will only work in DAZ so i wanted to give them a try see if I could do better this time but Im stumped right from the off with no figure loading up.

Try running a search in the Content Library for "Genesis.duf", maybe you have it categorized someplace unexpected. The files for that should be installed wherever you installed your Genesis Starter Essentials. Make sure you have mapped that location so DAZ Studio knows where to look for it. (I don't know what the default location is, I installed it into it's own separate runtime folder.)

No Genesis at all, or no Genesis loaded by default? On a clean install DS is no longer set to load a figure on launch - if you want it to you can set that in Edit>Preferences, in the Start up tab for application launch or in the Scene tab for new scene creation.
