So... Questions RE the Ancient Combat Hair...

I bought this hair item yesterday. It's a Neftis item, I've always had very good luck with his hair objects, and it has the exact look I needed for use on a character I'm currently working on, as far as the braiding with the rubberbandings going down the braid. However, having gotten it out of the box and really started to try and work with it... I'm finding myself very, very disappointed with this item.
Apparently, the trans dials are all but useless, and the scale dials are completely hidden on this product. Why? It's absolutely a useless item to me if I cannot make use of those dials. Why are these hidden and not functional on a HAIR object? How many artists use a hair object on ONLY the figure it was originally released for??
So... I have two serious questions.
1.) Is there ANY way to fix the issue with the trans dials and make them actually WORK on this hair so that it can be repositioned as needed?
2.) Is there ANY way to un-hide the scale dials, and also have them actually work, so that the hair can be rescaled as needed?
If those two items cannot be rectified, I'm afraid I'm going to have to return it. And I really would MUCH rather be able to fix these issues than return the item. I have never returned a digital item, I don't WANT to return it, this is the ONLY hair object I've ever seen that has the appearance I actually need for this character. But if it's completely incapable of being rescaled and repositioned to fit other figures, then it's certainly of absolutely NO use to me at all.
I'm very disappointed in this one... Neftis usually does such a good job with his hairs. I just don't understand why a vendor would DO this with a hair object when so many artists frequently use hair objects on multiple figures across the board! It seems counterproductive to me. You narrow your customer base immensely if the hair object cannot be repositioned and re-scaled!
I would have contacted the vendor directly with these questions, but I just cannot seem to find a way to do that, so I'm asking here in the hopes that someone can help me make this hair workable for what I need. I'm very glad I caught it on sale and only had to pay about $5 for the item, instead of it's base price of $15.
Can the above two items be rectified, or am I just SOL up the creek without a paddle on this? I'm using DS 4.6 Pro, if that makes a difference.
Thanks.

I should add, just to clarify... the braid part does translate and scale properly, as it should. It's specifically the head cap/base hair object that I'm having issues with. I suppose I could combine the braid with the Casual Slick hair object to get the look I want, but I just... would rather be able to fully use the product is all.
Poser, DAZ Studio or something else, and which version? How are the translation dials not working?
It's DS 4.6
The translation dials simply do nothing at all. The hair loads in bent forward and down in the middle of the figure's face - which I figured, okay, no problem, since I was loading it on something other than a Genesis2. Made sure the hair was not parented to the figure's head, and when you attempt to spin the translation dials, absolutely nothing happens.
I fiddled with it some more, and found that if I selected the "hip" body part of the base hair, that the translation dials would affect it slightly - but they don't really move the hair around, and after some slight adjustments, the hair 'snaps' back into it's original position (bent forward in the middle of the face).
And the scale dials are non-existent. Completely hidden, and I cannot see a way to un-hide them.
I know the hair is intended for use on the Genesis2 male, but I've never seen a hair object that couldn't be repositioned and scaled with the translation and scale dials...
I get the same behavior no matter what figure I load the base hair object (the cap) onto.
You should be able to unhide the scale sliders from the Scene pane option menu - the lined button in the top corner. The translation issue sounds like weight maps or locking - you can check the latter by clicking the gear on the slider and selecting Parameters Settings, then looking to see whether the Locked box is checked or the limits are set to 0; if you can't unlock that way, try parenting the hair to a null and use that to reposition it.
When placing conforming hair on a figure it was not made for you should be parenting it to the head and not Fit To the figure. Frankly I think no hair should be conforming as hair doesn't conform to a person but to gravity and the forces of nature.

Thanks again for the reply. I will try these tonight, when I am able to sit down to my computer. Hopefully, it works!

Thank you! That fixed the issues I was having with it. Much appreciated. =)
