This Porefectionist product is the kind of thing I think new people should look at.

I don't ever buy the HD add-on for characters because I think it's offensive that it's sold seperately, and it's the same price as the character. But if this Porefectionist product is any good, then it will replace every G8 HD add-on with a one-time cost.

Except its only for G8F and only for the face, the G8 HD contain a lot lot more.

This is my hangup. It looks primo as you'd expect from chevybabe25, but I work with G8M, and HD faces need HD bodies. Like NylonGirl, I'm offended by that huge extra price tag attached to each and every core figure, and since I prefer to dial in my own characters the add-ons don't do much for me. We desperately need universal, head-to-toe HD products for G8 and G3. Fingers crossed that the current Porefectionist does well and we get G8M faces at least (welcome to Ladies First Limbo), I'd instabuy even if it means more clothes than normal to cover the discrepancy.

That being said, now might be a good time for new people to pick up one core figure they really like plus the HD add-on, just to find out whether they like/want/need that HD look and whether their system can handle the necessary level of SubD to make it worthwhile. If not, return the add-on. I remember getting super excited about creating HD people when I was just starting out with Studio (I used Poser exclusively before that), not realizing what was involved, and then learning that my computer at the time wasn't up to it.
