FE Short Hair vol 2 - is there a bald spot? - Resolved

I love love the styles and hairlines included with this new hair. However, not matter what male character I put the hair on (I'm using hairline 8), I'm getting this bald spot. It doesn't help to expand the hair, either. Is anyone else having the same issue? Is it a feature rather than an error? Or am I doing something wrong?

I see that spot as well on my G8M and FE Short Hair hairline 8. Haven't tried the other hairline styles yet. You're right that using either of the hair expand parameters don't seem to help. I don't mind the bald spot too much, though I'd completely understand how it would not look right to others.
Have you tried applying the textures for the other hairlines to see if some combination will help hide that spot?

Do you mean use two hairs at the same time? I have not tried that yet. I can try later.
Not 2 hairs, but the materials presets. When they change the hair color for each hairline style, I believe they change the underlying skullcap texture/transparency as well. Might want to use the materials for hairline style 3 on the actual hairline style 8 hair, as an example. You'd get the same hair color regardless of style, but there's a noticeable change in the skullcap material/transparency underneath the hair. Some combinations work better than others. Not sure if I'm explaining this very well. :)

I understand. So select a color that is intended for another hairline style. I'll try it.
As an aside, though, changing hair colors is not very easy on this product. I was originally trying to get a brown color, but different than what is included as material presents. I went through quite a few of my hair shader sets, finding that most barely budged the hair color (made only a slight difference), until the backlight hair shaders did give me the color I needed.
Thank you @leemoon_c43b45a114 - using a different material worked. Actually, it was user error, I had used the wrong hairline material. Thanks for your help.
The hair is lovely. I like how the spikes are sharp/distinct. I'd previously purchased another spikey hair style, but for me, the hair was too "woolly" or fuzzy. This one is perfect for my needs.
Excellent news, Worlds_Edge! I've been playing with some material settings and am really enjoying this hair! You are most welcome. I'm glad you got the hair working the way you want, as have I.
Have an amazing day filled with great renders!!
