General question ... not about any specific plan, I have lots of 'em.

One can find floorplans all over the place.

Are there any issues about using them to start up 3D models from?
Are permissions required from the architects or map-makers or owners of existing buildings or ?

Permission might be required - it depends on whether copyright law would call a 3D model based on an existing floorplan a "derivative work" from the floorplan. (Copyright laws have changed recently in many countries, so I can't give a definite yes or no here.)

Of course, if the floorplan is old enough to be in the public domain, that part of copyright law doesn't really matter.

... hard to keep up with all those changes.
Okay I'll weed through for really old ones or clearly marked PD ones ... thank you for replying.
