Cascading Object Reference?

Suppose I modify a standard object, for example I add a badge to a shirt by changing the uv map in photoshop. I can then save the modded shirt and fit it to a bunch of figures.
But suppose I find an error in my modification that I want to fix for all the figures that my shirt is used for. It seems like each of the figures has its own instance of the modified shirt which needs to be fixed individually. Is it possible for each figure to reference a common master shirt such that when I change the master all the instances change?
Hope the question makes sense – ideas appreciated.
Cheers - lucia

Image files are not embedded in the file but are referenced, so any changes you make to the image file will appear in any scene or preset that calls that image. That does mean that if you aren't wanting to change everything you should give your modified version a new name, and replace the reference on the item you do want modified in the Surfaces pane.

Daz remembers a texture after the first load, either save the texture with a new name or restart Daz for the change to take effect.

Or "Refresh Images" from the Surfaces Tab control menu.
