Why Material Saves (duf) have to be saved on "C" Drive?

I saves a figure material as a duf file into a non-root (default C drive location) and it will not show up in my Studio Content Library as a selectable item. When saving in the "root" location...poof it is there. Why?

I DO NOT use the "root" location/directory...why can I not save a Studio saved DUF file into a location of my choosing and have it appear in my chosen Library?

What am I missing?

When you go to save a Materials Preset (File >> Save As >> Material(s) Preset) you can navigate to where you want to save it.

Nothing, apart from the Program and User settings need to go on C drive.

It must be saved to a known Studio library for it to be seen in the Content Library though.
