Via the "WayBack Machine, Stonemason's "Heavy Cable" is still available.

It doesn't have a "claw", but I'm willing to bet various props can be found.

    Sincerely,

    Bill

...I was going to mention that one as well (I've had it for years) but the OP asked about a claw as well (though like you mention not hard to kitbash one one to it).

    BTW nice Doc Oc there.

Thanks!  As you can see, I tried to depict something inspired by Steve Ditko's earliest design of the gear, the bulky control harness with the four circular controllers (which I long thought resembled rotary telephone dials).

    Sincerely,

    Bill

...Steve Ditko was one of my favourite Spiderman artists.

So the thingy on the end that I'm calling a claw, does that come with it? Because I installed it but the thumbnail doesn't look like a claw. And what does 'ik' mean?

I use the word "claw" as well.  Some people may call them "pincers", which is also valid.

I have to chuckle just a bit as right there is the answer to your question when you quoted my post.  But to clarify, no, that freebie does NOT come with a claw or pincer.  I grabbed a component from an very, very old product by Ajax from Renderosity.  But again, as noted above,  finding a claw prop (or even a rigged figure for free) should not be impossible.

As for "IK", that stands for "inverse kinematics".  That basically means one can grab the endpoint of a limb (in this case, the "needle" of the tenatcle) and drag it around the workspace with the rest of the segments following it.  "IK" is often used to position hands and/or feet of a figure.  Say you have afigure positioned upon a bike.  You can either use the controls to bend each leg joint to position it upon the pedal, or if the figure has "IK" coded and it's switched on, you can simply take the foot and push and/or pull it into position, the knee and hip joints following.  StoneMasoon provided both an "IK" enabled tentacle and one using "EasyPose" master dials (sliders in DAZ Studio).

    Sincerely,

    Bill

Funny enough, I merely Googled "Stonemason Poser freebies" and I got a link to the Poser freebie document.  Within that I spotted the "WayBack Machine" link and tested that.  When it attempted to download the item I knew it was good so I copied and pasted that download link in this thread.  Whomever resaerched and constructed that page deserves the real credit.

That "Heavy Cable" is still a viable item and from (admittedly limited) personal observation, it seems to be the "go to" for artists wanting to depict Doc Ock without needing to pay a substantial sum.

    Sincerely,

    Bill

Thanks for explaining all that to me, Redfern. I've been using Daz since DS3 and never understood what that meant, lol.

Well, that's how it works in Poser.  I have no idea if it responds the same way within DAZ Studio.

    Sincerely,

    Bill
