Commissioning custom content?

Is there any kind of process for commissioning someone to make custom hair or clothes etc? There's styles I'd like that I can't find on the store and I'd love to pay an artist to create them. Is there any way of approaching someone to do this?

What I could suggest is posting reference pictures in Product Suggestions.  You may get suggestions for similar items you haven't discovered yet.  Commissioning high-quality assets like hair and clothing can get very expensive.

Daz isn't really the place to recruit for that type of work generally, since the company isn't in the business of helping people buy stuff directly from artists.  You'd probably have better luck at Artstation, or maybe even Fiverr.

If you don’t need an exclusive model, an artist could potentially create your style if they liked it and sell it here or elsewhere so it would be financially worth their time unless you are a company willing to pay a high price for an exclusive hair model.

I don't think tha'ts the case.. it's usually people want to commission stuff, ask on the forums, and then get a shock when they see how much it will cost.

You'll get a better response imo, if you provide some shots / drawings / examples of what you want.

If it is someone else's IP then you may be out of luck. An artist certainly can't sell it to recover some of the cost, so you would then have to foot the whole bill.

... And yeh $1000 is not unreasonable as a rough starting guide; it all depends on what you want. Do you want to own it outright, or have exclusive rights to it, or are ok with it being sold to others.
