Making OBJ clothing compatible with Genesis.

Hello there!

English is not my first language, so I apologize in advance if my wording sounds weird, especially when it comes to software's technical terms. Also not sure if I should've posted this in the Daz Studio section or the Hexagon section.

I'm not new to 3D modeling (a bit rusty, but not new), but I am new to Daz, Hexagon and Genesis.

So, I'm trying to get back into this hobby of mine and making medieval armor in Hexagon, and I'd like to use them with the Genesis models. I know how to import the .obj armor into Daz, but I don't know how to get them to work with Genesis' features. For example: I'd like to select a genesis model and import my custom armor, having it appear right away at the character's chest, fitting his body (even if the fit isn't always perfect). Another example: I'd like to make my armor be able to receive morphs like those of Fit Control, https://www.daz3d.com/fit-control-for-genesis-8-female-s . I don't own the product yet, but from what I get from the description, Fit Control applies its morphs to any Genesis 8-compatible clothing and I'd like to make sure my assets will be compatible with such a system before I buy the product.

I assume that to get that Genesis 8 compatibility, I'll have to to convert the .obj file to one of Daz's file formats, probably .duf. Am I right about having to convert? And if I am, how do I do such a conversion? Also, I assume that just converting is not enough? I mean, I suppose there's something else to do to get those features working other than simply converting the file.

I'm sorry if my questions are too basic but I wasn't able to find help by searching in Google. Every tutorial/help thread I came across was either old, outdated, empty, teaching something different from what I'm looking for, a combination of these or even outright deleted/inexistent.

Thanks for your attention.
