Vehicles: Real World Equivalents

Personally, I started searching out and listing my vehicles as Real-World Equivalents due to time continuity (in theory). Of course many vehicles offered are of original design, but of the others (and to help save frustration to fellow users) I want to share what I've discovered. Note some may not be accurate (being to an exact year nor model) while others may simply be themed, so feel free to add and/or correct. I'm in the process of organizing, so many I haven't researched and of course much more I do not own. Also note that personally and primarily my research has been into cars (not aircraft nor (sea)ferry). I will try to provide (daz) links to the active (being those available for purchase) products as well.

DarkEdge's Merkava is... an IDF Merkava (hahaha). It's the Merkava Mk. 4, with active countermeasures on the sides of the turret. Pretty sweet model.

ile-avalon's "Light Battle Tank" is a Russian BMP-1, I think. (The description says 73mm 2A28 Grom, which is what the BMP-1 has, and not the BMP-2.)

The bottom one doesn't look like the AA Ford but what else could it be? There isn't another 1930 Army truck.

It may simply be themed after said truck with taken liberties (isn't it fitting ;) ). The Model itself is titled FT (I'm assuming for Ford Truck, though it could stand instead for flat?) Many of the artists will drop "hints" (such as dates or names) on the models (such as their license plates).

Still researching the two vintage race cars

Was a real chore as I wanted to get rid of the extra line spacing in the list but when I did so in Word, it killed all the links and I had to reset them manually one by one. This forum software needs to observe true single line spacing when forcing line breaks. What is worse a draft copy was left behind in the new comment window below after I posted the this. This has occurred on a number of occasions wqhich requires the bother of having to into Drafts to delete them.

This just saved me alot of time, thanks. In truth I was in search of the (2nd) Rover, though I was searching for "Land" instead of "Range"which should have been obvious (to me).

I don't post on here (ever really) so not that familiar with it, but for some reason, when I first shared my links and spaced "- title" it linked some of the first words? I went back and tried "\" in place (it fixed all but one (which originally worked as intended with the -), some backspacing and retyping fixed it). I've never had links to grab words spaced apart from the link...

That one seems to be ambiguous enough to pass as any one of these three
- Chevy/GMC C/K 1973-80
- Dodge Ram 1981-85
- Ford F-Series 1981-86

Mattymanx's Llamaghini series is (obviously) inspired by Lamborghini. Don't know specific years/models, but:

Based on the grille shape, headlight bezels surrounding the front turn signal lamps, 6 lug wheels, the round head headlights, and the wheel well shapes, this is a model of a 1979 Chevrolet/GMC K-2500 base model pickup (the Silverado/Sierra pickup had rectangular headlights). The 73 to 78 1500 head light bezels did not surround the turn signal lamps and the 1980 and newer trucks all had rectangular headlamps. The real giveaway is the shapoe of the wheelwells and the truck sides and doors that show it is a GM product.

@Haruchai The links to Road Trip Hippy Van, the Classic and the Off-road car are coming up as "404 Not Found"... I suspect it might have something to do with the semicolon at the end of the link... the only link that works is the Ladybird which doesn't have a semicolon.

Now if only I could find a Lotus Seven S II, like the famous KAR120C from The Prisoner series... (and a Patrick McGoohan morph, the clothes... the whole darn village. Pretty sure I could make Rover with dForce and a sphere...)

It seems to have elements of both a WW2 Dodge WC-62/63 6x6 Truck and a WW2 Era Dodge Power Wagon... combined with a little of a Soviet ripoff of those vehicles... (whatever the Soviets used to mount their Katyusha rocket launchers on)... (the grill looks especially Soviet)... Overall it has more Power Wagon cues than anything.

The vehicle in the real world picture obviously has had many modern upgrades, but the basic elements are the same as the original... but oddly those yellow shock absorbers which this vehicle shares with the Nil-731, would not be a thing on a real military vehicle... they'd most likely be black.

...there's a Super 7over at Rendo. You'll likely have to tweak materials for Iray and remove any reflection maps as it was done for Poser.
