CMS Cluster Directory

Hi!

Newbie here with a silly issue of my own doing!

Installed some bought content and I couldn't locate it, so after looking at some forums on here, I followed what I *though* were the right steps... but what I actually did was change my Cluster Directory.... now my CMS won't work. I remember the path being something like 'apps/roaming' but I cannot find this on my computer at all. I have windows 8, which i hate and just cannot use for the life of me, I haven't given myself chance to learn my way around it yet.

Can anyone please help me set-up or restore my CMS Cluster Directory so it locates the right folder again? If not I think I am just going to have to uninstall and start afresh. I can see my content in the library, but not the Victoria 4.2 model I purchased.

Just to clarify.... I am going to Edit>Preferences>CMS Settings. Then under 'Basic: Cluster Directory'

Everything worked fine until I changed this!

Thank you in advance :)

Laura

Where are you seeing CMS Settings in Preferences? I don't seem to have that.

Victoria 4 is in 'Poser' format, unlike Genesis and Genesis 2, so you will need to look in the Content Library pane under Poser Formats > My DAZ 3D Library > Figures > DAZ People.

V4 shows up in my Smart Content under Default > Figures > People.

    Hi Jimmy,

thank you for replying so quickly. I cannot see my Smart Content no at all, that is why I think I have messed something up. I have restarted Daz, reloaded the Smart Content etc but nothing seems to work. I will try and get a screen print of what I'm talking about....

    Thanks!

You will have the Edit>Preferences>CMS Settings tab only if you are using PostgreSQL. The default Cluster Directory is, for Windows Vista and later, C:\Users\You\AppData\RoamingDAZ 3D\CMS - AppData is a hidden folder so you will need toe nable the display of hidden files and folders in the Control Panel Folder Options applet.

    Thanks Richard.

I am using PostgreSQL, but the window wasn't wide enough when loaded to show it. There never used to be anything past the Content Library tab, so I didn't notice. Another mystery solved :)

Brilliant Richard. I have tried all sorts of things to get CMS working again for the last month or so. Locating the cluster directory in preferences has finally fixed it. Thanks

Nice.. You guys are happy to have CMS running...  I have a fresh install of windows, fresh install of DAZ 4.9x32, after much struggle installing DAZ 4.9, running DAZ 4.9 show no content at all...  Ok, I use DIM to install some content, yet, nothing shows up in the content library, smart content or anywhere else...  NOTHING AT ALL...  I never struggled this much with DAZ 3. No matter what I do, I see no change at all...   What the heck am I doing so very wrong???

    attached is a screen shot

Can you post a shot of WHERE the DIM is supposed to be installing to...I have a feeling it isn't installing where you think it should be and that the location it's installing to isn't one of the ones in CDM.

  • Is there a way DAZ can scan your computer for products, I love this program to death but the way files for the products are stored on the computer make nuclear physics translated into latin sound elementary. Microsoft just raped my computer with one of their lovely updates and somehow moved files around. Still trying to get my head past that. If there is some easier way to do this (Video prefered!!!!!) I would be very appreciative.

What a pleasure it was to find this nugget. Thank you.
