I like that! But I admit that render time is quite intimidating. Thanks for showing it. Dandelions are my favorite little weeds. They are delicate and beautiful.

I closed down and restarted my studio and things are rendering faster, so it may just have been that my studio was open all night with the Nidale render and needed a refresh :)

I am doing Summer, bald, for you to see, then redoing with the End Of Summer Hair (which will take awhile.) This is Summer on Genesis and I used the same lights but took out three as she is so fair skinned compared to Nidale. Also, one light is a dark mauve (Summer is very pale)

I shut her eyes a bit and did a Smile and Excited pose so you could see the teeth.

I hate thin eyebrows, but need to have a few in my library.

So keep in mind she will be a lighter and more blue.

I'll do her with End of Summer Hair, with the auburn she actually looks quite nice. THAT will take awhile.

Thanks for showing me that. I agree about the brows. The hair is nice looking, I like the plait in the side.

BTW, it appears the cart is glitching up for some folks regarding that buy $20 DOs and get $10 off. It isn't doing it for some people, so check your cart carefully, As I posted on the other thread, I would strongly recommend always doing a screenshot of your cart (after you open it up and before you check out) which shows the line by line costs. I label mine OrderSept28.2014 (example) so I can zip right to them. I save them as a jpg image.

If you don't know how to do a screenshot, go to the upper right of your keyboard and it's PrtSc. Then go to your graphics program (I use Corel Draw) and open a blank page, then it's Ctrl+V and voila. You can also do a highlight with your mouse and copy/paste, but that may be a bit sloppier.

Since DAZ has a 30 day low price guarantee, this comes in very handy as an ultra fast reference, and you can just attach the screen shot and it makes it easy for the Daz folks too.

Interesting from the other thread, it appears the bundle (ballerina) is discounting. And I had a new item discount even though it says they don't. The cart isn't behaving the same for people though, some said they aren't even getting the discount at all (with older items.) So just be sure and check/test items. I separated my featured stores/punch items out from the DO's and did two separate orders, but be careful and be sure you have $20 in your cart of DO's (or you might have to put a DO punchable in that DO order.)

So has everyone shopped using the discount?

I have not used the discount. I don't own any of the bundles or the HD character which are listed as the prereq.

Summer Character & Hair is in Fast Grab. Nice looking hair. Does anyone have her?

I have her - I've attached a couple of rather basic renders (Advanced Distant and Advance Spotlight, Photo Studio backdrop)
First is "out of the box" (except the hair which loads in untextured, so I added the copper option)
Second is Autumn makeup and brown eyes with brown hair.
ETA: Ah, I turned the page and saw that Novica has already posted a more elaborate render. Just for the record, my lights were plain white, 70% brightness/50% shadow/20% softness Adv Distant and 30% brightness/10% shadow/50% softness Adv Spotlight from right hand side slightly below her head (that's my right, her left!)

Yes, I do, and she is lovely. I did these renders recently, but I don't remember if I modified any of the textures.

Melanie- no, I like yours because that's what people will typically be rendering- like daylight. Mine is more showcase lighting. BTW, in case anyone is interested, try Aaron lighting and see if you like it. Add a distant light front, and one to the right (or left) side, and that's this lighting. It's UE2 but rendered pretty fast!

This is with the hair, I didn't tweak it (obviously, it's floating a bit) but wanted you to see her with some hair. I think using her features and not the skin mats will be the way to go for me, those eyebrows are just too darned thin unless the bangs cover them up. I like the lips alot, the right amount of gloss right out of the box. Also, note how the tip of the nose catches light. Cute!

I like those! The first one in particular. :) With yours, her forehead really shows well too. I think she would look good for elegant updo hairstyles as well. Thanks so much for sharing, very nice of you.

I'm still tweaking her nose a bit (taking the nostrils back), but here's two more. The last one rendered during the night because it was a closeup with hair and took awhile. Nidale is my favorite for African-American skin materials. She lights well no matter what you do, hard to mess her up! In some lighting, as we've seen, she does almost go Caucasian.
Yeah, I definitely pegged her as a Caucasian with a good tan. Her facial features and hair structure (not style) don't really say African American to me. She's definitely hot though. lol. I'll second that. I thought south American looking at the promos, then I got some light on the matter, lol. Three uber panel sky search lights and a few DzSpot carbon ark lamps later, and no one else looked the same, lol.

That reminds me, I was going to finish that amazing skins thing I started a few weeks back, Nidal was the last to have fun making her look like the promos next to other figures under the same lights, lol.Kori or Nidale, hmm, can I vote for both.

This is a great light set. I didn't spend any time tweaking it because I was just trying to get Summer up. :) So you can tweak it further. But as you can see, it does okay with only a few adjustments. Summer was so pale I had to dim it down from what I had done with Nidale.

    Lights (starting point) were from:
    http://www.daz3d.com/aaron-for-genesis-young-teen-justin

I didn't change the two Specular lights (From Aaron.) With respect to the vendors, I never give details on the light set except for things I change.

UE2, out of the box white, 59.6% intensity, nothing else changed from Aaron light for UE2.

My Distant RightFront (my right) is white 34.2%

Distant Front is the mauve, pretty dark- to balance the whites and because she is pale- 183/155/136 (good to try on other pale figures btw)
    and it is 31.9%

The Infinite Light is blue 204/223/254 at 35.65 (Again, Aaron light, coordinates not changed)

    @driver51:

Nice work on those renders. Her surprised look is cute.

@MelanieL I like your renders and your lights. She looks good with the advanced lights. She has a lovely angular face. I don't tend to use those so much, but your combination is good. May try your formula sometime.

RE: Nidale: I'm going with Brazilian looking skin, and typical Dolly face. I like her tanned skin.

@Novica: Nice lights on those. I have Aaron, but not Teen Justin. That's interesting a main figure gets lights. That's unusual

Hey Driver51- honored that my thread was your first post :) Summer inspired you, eh? Who else have you rendered?

BTW, am curious- (very) as to who is not a PC+ member right now? Need a favor. (not for me. I am PC+ so out of the loop.) PM me please immediately.

Speaking of which, are there any other characters that people would like to see?

I'll post a link of some things I've bought.

I goofed up. driver51 is my husband. I was using a computer logged into his account. He never does much with DAZ and never posts in the forums. Occasionally I log into his account to check on it. This was one of those days. I forgot to log out afterwards. Those renders are mine. :red:

Edit: And I am still old Platinum Club, not plus.

Still doing some research on all this HTML5 stuff and epub3, this might interest some of you. I'm having a dickens of a time trying to figure out what is outdated on all these articles that I am finding.

If you go to the right side menu, you can click on examples and get the page. Then hit view/source and voila, you have the html code.

Is a Daz Original, if you got the Ballerina Bundle, this is the upscale set to Dance Studio. You only have a few minutes (about 20) to shop, and I'm assuming most of you have already. But even if you've used your punchable code (seeing as this is a DO) you can still pick it up for 50%
off. EDIT: IT'S SHOWING 65% FOR ME. So I guess PC member is affecting it.

I just got Lilith with my punch discount.

You can find the full ePub3 specification at IDPF EPUB 3 Overview

More importantly is which parts of the code are supported on which devices (none support 100% yet). The Book Industry Study Group keeps a detailed chart of feature support at http://epubtest.org/. Click the top link to view the chart.

There's no point in making ebooks with code no devices or apps can read, so it's important to keep up on what's supported currently.

Also, the Kindle example files you mentioned are really out of date - most haven't been updated in something like four years.

Hi Scot! Hope the beginning of your week is going well :)

Yes, that's what I'm finding- such a mish mash of codes and poor information.

I've diverted from the ebooks for a bit though as tah dah- I just bought ZBrush yesterday. (Sigh- $800 but oh so worth it! My credit card gasped when that charge was put on it.) The Zclassroom videos are awesome. Anyone thinking about getting Zbrush should watch them.

Here's what Zbrush looks like. It's important to just get in and "play" for a bit I think. :)

    1. the opening screen. Cool hotkeys, click comma and that Lightbox (the section with all the options hanging down) disappears/reappears.

    2. So let's take the sphere. I clicked on the gold "S" (Simple Brush) and there's the options. Want to show you something fun with a hairlike texture pulled out by the Snakehook Brush then rainbow colored with Deco Brushl. So I will choose Fiber Brush for "hair."

    3. This has five strokes of the Fiber. I lightened the image so you can see it better. Now lets pull it around with the Snakehook Brush. This is awesome the first time you do this!

    4. The snake tool will take the lines the way you do them, it's not automatically a wiggler. Fun fun fun! (And eerie, as you pull it, the thing comes "alive."

    5. The Deco Brush does the rainbow effects and there's ways to adjust the intensity, sweep effect, etc. You can see where it created bands and other places where I overlapped and overlapped until they were blended. Wanted to show you both.

Absolutely! Congrats on taking the plunge. You won't regret it. ZBrush is one of the most awesome tools out there, used by almost everyone in every part of the digital art industry. It's like Cheese Whiz for artists. Yummy! :)

    Hello everybody!
Sorry to have disappeared that night ... But this time it was midnight here in Brazil.
But the fact is that I had shelved this idea webcomic, and ebook for some time, and my thought was to return to it when I had enough to pay for modeling clothes, money for the characters.
My story takes place in Jerusalem ... Aah, Palestine also, and ultimately throughout the Middle East ... But Poser and Daz stores have a very limited clothing of the Middle East
I have Moroccam dream, LoRes arab, someone already pointed me to a burqa V3, but the end is not enough ...
