Cathie, try changing the Advanced Ambient Light parameters from On (diffuse and specular) to diffuse only. I think that will eliminate that strange glow you see in the eye pupil area.

Thanks Barbult- I'll try that now and let everyone know if it works. Appreciate it very much.
I'll see what other Jepe's I have and do a few of those. Also on my list is Silas M4, Cesar Character Set M4.
For Genesis, would like to see Corbin, Elias, Gabriel, M3D Men for M5, M5 Elite Texture Dave
For G2M, looking at Kasper Lee 6, Hector for Gianni 6, El Drago Gianni 6, Jepe's Nathan, Sheppard M6.

Anyone have any of those, feel free to post. What I am doing is using the same light to do them, and noting which take the longest to render, the details, etc. This lightset isn't the one I'd use (I like more dramatic lighting) but this shows the pores and details pretty well so I am just sticking with it for comparison sake.

Back in a few. Hope everyone had a nice Labor Day in the U.S. I didn't labor lol :)

I know a dude who is crushing on Barbult. :)

BTW, with a .20 shading rate and all settings on excellent, it took 2 minutes 45 seconds to render a 1090 x 1500 image.

Okay, I'll be sure and do Corbin just out of curiousity. If anyone has a particular one they want to see from that group (or otherwise) just post and I'll do it (and anyone else is welcome.) I've got to start picking characters and although I will morph and change them, I've got to see them in an organized way so I'm doing a bunch of males (even if I've done them before. They're all under different lights.)

Also, rather curious- if you have time to think about it, here's a question for everyone- who is your favorite male character in each generation? Or, who sticks out in your mind immediately? For Gen6, the first one that came to my mind was Taric. (From Gianni.) I like Amon, Maxim, and Ryze too. For M5, Ohia. I haven't figured out an M4 yet.

I've already got Malakai Lee 6 done so I'll plop him here in a few minutes. Check back. :)

I don't have Axel, Riyuu, James or Gabriel :) but my favorite Gen 5 is Stefan

Edited to add: I'd like to post some M5 Elite Texture Dave renders.

Stefan looks useful. Maybe he will go on sale and I will pick him up. :)

I like broader faces and fuller lips. Which is why James and Gabriel look good to me.

Oh and how can I forget Benjamin m5.

Michael 5 Elite Skin Texture Dave

You asked about M5 Elite Skin Texture Dave. He comes with hairy and shaved versions. You can also kind of mix it up with separate textures for hairy/shaved face, torso, and head. There are gens textures, but I didn't try them. He comes with several eye options. He also has material presets for close-up and distant bump. Here are some renders of the Dave texture on Michael 5. I lit the scene with one Advanced Ambient Light set to diffuse only and one distant specular-only light at 50% coming from the left.

    Corbin For Michael 5 (Male-M3dia / ForbiddenWhispers / JSGraphics)
    http://www.daz3d.com/corbin-for-michael-5

Okay, this is interesting. If you don't have Corbin, take note of what you get. To my surprise, I got a choice of several dudes. This first one shows Andrew. The vendors were really great about giving you bodies-lots of them- there are eight, going from fit to slightly flabby, to more flabby, also beer gut type, then superhero, then ultra fit- you get the idea. So well worth your money!

However, not sure what's going on with the dark stubble everywhere, the arms and the lips. I'll try some different lighting and let's see what he looks like. This is with the same lights as the previous guys.

He has nicer (more realistic) eyes and teeth than many characters, in my opinion.

    I agree.

Everyone hang tight, I am redoing Corbin, using Ruins of Angkor Wat, with a distant light and a spotlight added for the front of the face. It is taking a bit longer to render, but will show Corbin better. I might re-render some of the others too. This is UE2 though, so....tick tock.

He has a hair option... But the sideburns look funky to me. I prefer 3d hair.

One thing I like about Gabriel, is actually his head morph. I use this morph a lot, since I like dudes with fuller lips.

Okay, Corbin, redone with Angkor Wat and a couple other lights. May redo a few others to see what they look like.
Yours are looking good SereneNight- thanks for sharing! :)

Edit: Put in a different one which shows the details better. No matter what lights I use, the nose is going to have a lot of detail, I think of a mean person, a person with a commanding presence, etc. And that stubble appears more pronounced depending on the lights.

Ryuu is definitely a great character. I have the M4/Genesis version and use it for all of my Japanese males. It's an incredibly versatile set, and is easily customized too.

    Elias For Michael 5 (Raiya)
    http://www.daz3d.com/elias-for-michael-5

Elias has several different makeup options. Renders fairly quickly. Is very pale of course, so you'll have to be careful who you pair with him because it may be a lighting challenge. (If you haven't ever put a very pale next to a ruddy person, use of dark spotlights/lighting on the light person can be helpful.)

Love love love Ohia. In different lights, you really get different skin results. The tattoos are interesting and can't complain about that body lol! I think he'd really be interesting with different types of hair- both long and short.

You pick any M5 texture you want but it says it was designed for Johan so I used him. There are so many head morphs! If you like one, the best thing to do is hold your mouse over the image, you will see the name of that character in capital letters at the END of the image name.

This group is Alek, Brad, Caleb, Finn, Harley.

In case you didn't see this, we have fake cell phone towers- 17 found already- that are intercepting your cell phone calls. If you suddenly go from a 4 bar to a 2 bar, take a look around!

The FWArt store got fixed. It wasn't showing the 50% discounts.

Great props from maclean! There's so many ways you can use these. :) You can set up your own store, all you need is a wall.

I'm getting this one too because there's so much I can do with it. There's not that many open spaced/lots of ground plane sets where you can set up memorial sites, art festivals outdoors (that have plain walls) etc. Forbidden Whispers and FWDesign scored well on this one IMO.

I am curious about the facility and the glass expansion. With the facility, how do the textures look up close?

I like the set too. It looks versatile.

    I don't know- I got the courtyard. :)
I managed to get five punches and then did the more expensive stuff after I went to 60%.I didn't really need the poppy but with a $10 DO certificate and the extra 10%, I saved $3 so it pretty much paid for the poppies. I almost forget and put everything in my cart, but then I read and it said "Savings apply INSTANTLY" so after you get your 5 punches, that 10% gets tacked on the very next order. Don't know why that didn't register to me, but I didn't have the punches anyway. So the Courtyard went in an order by itself after the 5 punches.

Hot here today. We have hummingbirds and I've spent a lot of time with them so I can now get a foot away from the feeder and they still buzz in. Have the Calliope and Ruby Throated. Important to change the feeder daily (when over 92 degrees, change daily) so I don't fill it up. I've heard from friends that the hummers are still on the East Coast too.
