Content installation issues - DS versus DIM

Hi, I recently purchased 'People carrying people' (PCP) and 'People carrying People Vol 2' (PCP2), and installed both from within DS. Both appeared to install correctly.
PCP2 worked perfectly, but PCP reported 'file not found' for every script I attempted to run. To resolve this problem I uninstalled within DS and then installed using DIM - worked perfectly after this.
This has happened to me before. Can anyone please clarify why some products fail to install properly/fully within DS, and need to be installed via DIM?
